Unknown cue on Ebay

Sorry but I think its an import cue that someone put a leather wrap on, the ring work looks like the import Palmer type cues I have seen.

Don't know who made it, and I don't buy the guy's tale of how he paid $500 for it at a Pawn Shop. The wrap looks thinned to match the wrap groove for about .5", then the wrap fattens up. That tells me the quality is suspect.

I believe the guy is a member on here.

Rings are like Lucasi, but the Joint is 5/16x18... Rosewood-Points to a Ebony-Butt is dismatching and the Hoppe-Ring is no ivory. The Leather-Wrap looks a little like the ones from the Pred-Ikons. I agree its something from asia, Tai-Can maybe...

Nope Sorry Lenny it is not a present day Palmer.
Looks like it could be a Hammerhead that someone added a leather wrap to. My guess Jim Lee did the wrap.
I think Swatboy has been around long enough that the thought of him having paid $500 at a pawn shop seems absurd.
Nice cue and nice case put not worth near what he is asking

Unknown cue

Stake, It looks like a Mali hoppe style cue, retails for for about 129.00 have seen several of them for as low as 89.00 from Carls billiards on the Bay, someone put a leather wrap on it.

I don't know for sure who made the cue but,
I find it impossible to believe that anyone would pay that kind of money for a cue from an "unknown maker" period.

Unknown Maker Cue

I have one almost like it, different veneers (natural, blue and black) and linen wrap, taken in on trade. Test hit for one evening. I'll sell it for $130 shipped with a 1x1 case.

Iagree with you,I've seen some rare beautys at pawnshops selling for cheap, but never for 500.00.Usually pawnshops have no clue what a cue is worth.

Especially a guy who has owned over 500 cues and didn't get to hit it before he bought it. Unless, that is, the pawn shop is located inside a pool hall. Hey, now that I think of it, that is an excellent idea. :grin-square:

My educated guess is that it is a "Gracie" cue from the Phillipines. They do nice, clean work like that with plug bumpers and leather wraps.

Yeah, it's a Mali. One of the new overseas ones.
Worth about $100.

Chris you hit the nail on the Head almost, great eye!!!!!!!!:) It certainly is similar to a Mali, vintage series cue, however, it isn't one. The joint and joint rings are right however, the veneers in the points do not match what Mali is currently making. I also think the cue is an Asian Import though and that the seller is fishing for uneducated buyer who will jump!!!

Here is a link to the Mali cues currently being produced!!!

I'm pretty sure its a hammer head, i had one bf they were putting the logo on the butt, and the cue looked EXACTLY like that, even the ferrule is the same. I had contacted the dweeb selling that cue a while back. His comments were oh well i've seen richard blacks and tascarellas made like this. LMAO that cue is worth $100 and no more and the guy selling it is a scumbag, just waiting for some green horn to believe his BS $500 story.

Wow! At that price, Sounds like he did good, And the Pawn Shop did
better. Watch out Guys, Looks like a bad deal getten worse.

Ebay

I've seen worse descriptions on Ebay but usually the cue has a "buy it now" price of $39.99, or a starting bid of $9.99.

Poor Ebay seller can't get anything past this crowd
