Update on California Billiard Club

Update on California Billiards: I spoke to Chris this weekend. He has taken possession of the new building in Fremont, California and has just begun the process of tearing out the existing facility. The new California Billiards will be much nicer than the previous location in Mountain View, with more top quality Gold Crowns than before, a better layout with plenty of space between tables, a full bar, a full restaurant, and some exciting special features that are to be announced soon. Due to the extent of the facility improvements that Chris is making, the heavy construction will probably last until late September, with an expected opening date around October 1st. I, like everyone else, can't wait for the new world-class California Billiards location to open. There will be more updates coming out soon.

I don't know how you can make a place much nicer than the old california billiards, but if its possible, I'd definitely like to see.

Thanks for the update. Chris is a great guy and I wish him the best with the new location.

I was there years ago when there was a minor earthquake. All the lights were swaying at the same time, it was kind of surreal. That was a first for me!@!!

Good Luck in the new location!

Thanks for that.

I learned first hand how tough a business relocation is. Best wishes for a smooth transition to them - it never happens as fast as you want.

Any updates?
I've been driving by every week or two. The concrete work looks finished and "Now Hiring" signs are up with job applications on the door. The tables have been in for some time. I hope the opening is imminent.

I've heard that they'll be doing a Mess West Tour stop. Don't know what month yet. I've also heard from another local player that he was actually in there playing. Not sure if he was referring to the old or new location.

Either way, I can't wait to see it.

Me too. I drove by there a few weeks ago and thought the same thing. It will be the closest room to my house (time-wise) when it opens.

I was at the Mezz stop at Edgies in Milpitas and saw Chris. He told me that the city of Fremont just can't keep up with the flow of permit processing. He expects to be open very soon and I for one can hardly wait. He is a class guy and cares about providing a quality program for the players.

Good to hear, and thanks for the update. It was a very nice room before, so I'm anxious to see the new one.

been a while

Sure miss the old Calif. Billiard Club; I am also anxious to see the new one.
Hope the food is as good as before.

I really am hoping the best for Chris - a class act and great room owner.

Its a real shame that the city bureaucrats can delay a relatively small project for over 14 months. Nothing is easy anymore but we applaud Chris - I know he'll provide the players and fans a great venue.

Fremont is one of the most boring and stale cities I've ever seen. It's basically apartments and dentist offices. Thank god for a new pool hall!

Throw in fast food joints and you could be talking about anywhere in America. :p

Good New's

Appreciate the heads up ! ....

I will pass the 'good word' on to my all my friends. Someone just asked me a few days ago if I had heard anything as it was supposed to be open months ago and I said still no firm opening dates on website.

We all are excited to enjoy the amenities @ Chris's new establishment. Sure it will be the 'top shelf' facility here in the SF Bay and it's only 15- 20 minutes away for me:groucho::groucho:
