There has been talk about a few players playing with their score cards. This is a $30,000 purse tournament. The format is so that more players will opt to take that hard shot to contiue their RO as they get a point for a RO and a point for a game won.

I hope Corey prints up some cheap score sheets to give the fans like they do in baseball programs. The fans that follow the matches can out the crooked players. It still will be he said/she said but if the same names pop up all the time or for the same match or game it will send up a big red flag on the guy.

Here again we have players shooting pool in the foot. You have good money tournaments, and good people trying to help pool but some players can only think me, me, me first, and **** you. Ban these thieves now and see the rest wake up. Johnnyt

How do they do it in golf? Do the players write-up their own cards?
 
The players have their own cards and sign the cards in golf. I think it is watched much closer.

I think their are plenty of fans that would volunteer to keep score and get a front row seat. Have the pros initial it after every game to confirm and problem solved.
 
a pga tour official is with each group. A buddy of mine qualified for the Bellsouth Classic in Atlanta one time by shooting 65 in the Monday qualifier and in the first round he fired a little 80 except his playing partner had him down for a 79. My friend signed the card for a 79 and was DQ'd for signing an incorrect scorecard.

Ended up costing him about $80,000 in sponsorship money as a sponsorship group from North Carolina was coming down to watch him in the second round.

That's a good idea.I was thinking the same thing myself.IT's amazing how a couple of people can ruin something this for all.I hope they catch the crooks!

Johnny, I'm not sure how their format worked. But if they'd simply just return to playing one shot shoot-out like they used to, you'd see players going for more difficult shots. You'd also see the better players winning a majority of the tournaments.

Texas Express is a lot like Texas Hold 'em. It takes skill to play the game, but the luck factor is huge.:rolleyes:

I agree with you 100%.The problem is, a lot of people talk about it and no body wants
to do anything. Cheats should get banned.
 
If the budget allows the simplest solution is to record all the matches on all the tables for review. It does not have to be broadcast quality, but a basic Webcam connected to a cheap laptop or desktop PC would probably suffice. You could also use the type of dedicated camera system designed for security which usually use a server recording multiple inputs streams to a single location. With WiFi enabled video camera you only need a power point available at each table.

Of course if you could combine this with a streaming platform that would allow external viewers to also watch the games too, as has already been done at several tournaments, you could offset the cost of the setup with sponsorship.
 
Giving extra points for runouts to encourge firing away and then making the tournament call shot is not logical.

yep I don't care if it was friggin willie mosconi or effren reyes it should not matter, and the fact that some are not willing to give distinct details is pretty dam queer...and I got no respect for anyone trying to hide the BS for any reason what so ever. I loved the push out rule, I wish they would play some tournments using that rule, it might catch on with the newer players and we could start back playing it and drop the ball in hand rule. Tom

I miss playing 2 misses BIH or "push out". Those shots separated men from boys. But... you can make the converse argument that in todays TX Express, a good safety game separates the men from boys.
