AZBilliards is happy to announce that we will be doing live scoring all week long at the US Open.

This new feature is brought to you by Sportsfan Products.

Thanks to AZB and, especially, to Sportsfan products for this. I'll be looking to buy things from our generous sponsor.

Missed names?

Thanks for a doing such a great job on the updates. Was wondering why Efren, Siegel and Buddy Hall are not there or did I just miss their names on the brackets?

No, you did not miss the names. They are not here this year.

Great Job!

Great job guys. This is so great you are doing this. I really love AZ billiards,,,,,,, oh my eyes are watering up I am so touched,,,, I love you guys,,,, This is so special,,,, seriously this is great:eek:

I watched the matches on AccuStats for quite a while but the score did not show there and when I went to this instant score site it was not updating the Owen match. It stayed 3-2 the whole time I was watching... maybe 6 or 7 games. So.. while I appreciate the effort there seem to be problems.

Sometimes, depending upon where you are seated, you may not be able to see the score cards on a particular table, even if you had a spotting scope. That is one possible reason or perhaps they took a break or like Jerry said, Mike had to get his beauty rest.

That is strange. We are sitting front and center and were updating the Owen match the entire time.

I am starting to worry about how well the server is going to handle this live scoring. Going to try to relieve some of the stress on the server now.

What would really be cool is to get a photo of Jerry and Mike at the tournament with their binoculars covering this event. Maybe next year.

Anyways, thanks AZers for your support of Sports Fan Products. A quick note that we also have a sister company, BMP International that is the US distributor for Vigma billiard balls www.vigmausa.com, custom logo billiard balls by Fuzion (you'll hear more about this soon), and some other quality game room gear.

BMP is also the officiall license for ESPN, US Army, and Jim Beam billiard products. Check us out at www.brandmarkproducts.com

Sorry for the shameless plugs but wanted to let you guys know.

OK gang, I have made some changes to the scoring page to make it load faster and not hit the rest of the site so hard.

This should improve the performance of the forums during this week.

The scoring page should operate the same as is did before for everyone. I just made some changes to the code to make it load faster.

King- we just got back from tailgating in Athens this weekend. Took our FanMobile- completely outfitted with pool table, darts, etc.. The Dawgs handled the Commodores- although it was a nailbiter- to Baton Rouge this weekend.

If scoring freezes

If your live scoring page freezes try just closing and reopening your browser. We know this works with Firefox and probably other browsers as well.

US Players treated unfairly

AZBilliards is happy to announce that we will be doing live scoring all week long at the US Open. Just go to: azbilliards.com/usopen08/scores.php. You will be able to follow all of your favorite players, rack by rack, through every match.

This new feature is brought to you by Sportsfan Products. Sportsfan is your supplier for all collegiate-licensed products and can provide you with everything from ceiling fans to theater seating and poker tables that all carry the emblem of your favorite team.

Please remember the deal that we have with our sponsors: They make stuff, you buy it. They have already made the stuff so now you need to do your part. And they are nice folks. These aren't your lobster-picking nose in the air kinda guys, these are regular folks who eat cheeseburgers and real french fries, not those awful little potato wedges you get in a foo-foo restaurant. So they deserve your support.
I really like the real time score keeping. I do not like the fact that some of the professional players did not make it to the tournamnet on time. That seems to be very un"Professional" Our American players should have recieved a bye if those guys cannot be at a tournamnet on time, instead, they put off the american players until the next day so that those who did not make it on time can still play. If that would have been an american that did not make it on time , I am very sure they would have had to forfeit. I also do not agree with them seperating players from other countries so they did not have to play each other. I thought this was the "US" OPEN .

Players

I saw an early player list that listed Buddy Hall and Mike Sigel and I don't see them listed anywhere. Would you know why they were listed as coming and then they didn't show up at the tournament? I hope it's not a health problem for Buddy and I know that Mike hasn't played in many big tournaments and maybe he wasn't ready to play.

Barry Berhman always pays the entry fee for all the past US Open Champions...Buddy and Mike just chose to not attend. But their names are listed as 'paid entries'
