There seems to be a conflict between the U.S. Open and the Challenge of Champions and some great players may be caught up in it.
Per news items on the AZ front page, Darren Appleton, Shane Van Boening, Dennis Orcollo and Mike Dechaine are all scheduled to be at the Challenge of Champions on 10/23 through 10/25. However, we would all expect them to be at the U.S. Open on 10/21 through 10/27.
Obviously, these players can not be in both places at one time. Are they blowing off the Open in favor of the Challenge of Champs? Isn't the Open one of the major tournaments that gets players into the Challenge of Champs? The dates of the Open have been set for quite some time. What were the organizers of the Challenge of Champs thinking?
Somebody has made a grave error in scheduling.
