Using cue tip to determine cue ball direction and position for next shot.

We have so many league players here trying to initiate the pro's actions they see on video and it's hilarious to watch. All these guys stroking their cues in the air to imitate, then getting down and miscuing or knocking the ball off table.😁
My favorite is the pressure aim. They go to the object ball and faux shoot it center pocket till they're certain about it. They then walk confidently back to the cueball, get down into position, whereupon they still have no idea of what they're looking at or for. They then go through the guess work of how much ball or whatever they do. At this point it's still 50/50 the shot goes or what. It probably wont but wait there's more...
The funny part is they'll say something like, "I choked." :ROFLMAO:

I often see the cloth pointing when dramatic player wants to show everyone where the cueball should have landed.

I find it a poor move to point to where you want the cue ball to stop before shooting. That makes the shot give your opponent extra information that you don't have to give. Locking your eyes on the spot for a few seconds serves the same goal for yourself without telling your opponent and everyone watching how successful the shot was.

The pointing afterwards is even stranger. It is either pointing out when you fail or trying to persuade people the equipment or pool gods have let you down.

Pool is a game of skill but it is a game of information too. Why give others information you don't have to? I used to have fun with a man I played regularly. Luck benefitting the other player made him furious so I made a point of acting like planned shots were pure luck often enough to keep him on tilt.

One of my favorite things said about me that I still remember many years later: Someone quit playing me after they had been a reliable customer for months. That was a shame but what he said made it almost worth it. "I am a better player than you are but I can't outrun your luck!" I started to tell him that luck on that level becomes a skill but I had hopes of getting him back on the table so I kept my mouth shut.

most people that do this behavior usually miss. So i let them do it all day
On the contrary those that know how to look for position on their next shot & pinpoint that landing area typically are better players that don't miss. Players that don't have a plan & just expect shape to happen are those that will give you those extra opportunities at the table.

What I see in league sometimes is hilarious.
Knucklehead has apron, glove, carbon fiber shaft and $25 chalk and of course the magnetic chalk holder.
Does all the dumb pre shot crap and fires the ball into the cushion and can't run four ball to save his/her life.
And just for the record I'm an old school player, no apron, no glove, wood shaft, masters chalk, no aiming system, no diamond system, no $25 tips and still able to be a Fargo 589 playing at about 75% of prime at almost 80 years old. LOL.
