Valley Forge Super Billiard Expo

I agree The wanted for sale Nazi's are always on the lookout to chastise someone for stepping out of line. It cost them more time to chastise than to just move on and let it be.

I guess I'm a "wanted for sale Nazi" then because I agree with those who have suggested this thread be moved where it belongs, the main forum.

For the guy before you who can't figure out how a thread like this can affect people trying to sell on here, I'll take a shot at explaining it.

I am going to list a ts cue for sale a little later today. The longer it stays in plain view (pages 1-3), the more exposure it gets which increases the likleyhood of a sale.

With an ongoing conversation like what this thread is, the items for sale continue to get knocked down one position with each post to this thread (like this post) until they disappear from sight. I have to then wait a minimum of 48 hours to bump my sales thread back up to page one.

This thread, imo, is a topic definitely worth discussing. But seriously, not on the wanted/for sale forum.

Respectfully.

best,
brian kc

I agree

I agree with chicken and cmd it should be moved to the main forum.
The reason being it does mess up the sale of people cues every time someone posts here and it's bumped, it moves someone's for sale item to the next page. This is also a thread that will gain many posts, in the for sale section it's one post every 48hrs. Is it a huge deal no, but we just try to follow the forum rules so it makes this place run smoothly for all

With that said, SBE is a great show. I liked it last year, just because there was pool, cues , and cases. Yes the area was not as good as the original location but atleast this show still continues on. Now the new location might not have food but who cares pack a cooler. I'm sure he might have a vendor stand or two set up

If Alan does read this, I think he should bring SBE to Baltimore Maryland personally ,there are so many places to have it,hotels to stay in, airport , top notch places to eat& so on. Also Maryland contains a vast number of custom cue makers too

RELAX Man, You're getting way too worked up over a thread. It will all be over soon Just chill. No one died here!

FS : my opinion.

wrong forum, hmmm. I wasn't going to say anything but I will. First off this thread does apply. The SBB is an event in which many of us use to acquire, sell, or trade our cues. It is important for all of us that are interested in buying, selling or trading cues to know the overall feeling for this show. Personally I drove 13 1/2 hours to go to the show in Valley Forge. To go to New Jersey it will be even longer. So i appreciate to hear everyones opinion. This help me to decide whether I will eb making the trip or not. If it had not been posted in this forum I may have missed it all together.

Now for all of those chiming in Wrong Forum. Come on! For those of us that are planning on buying selling and trading in the near future this thread has been very enlightening. If you dont like the thread there are many others please move on and stop bashing for a simple mistake.. so what if he posted it here or in the main forum. I feel there are more buyers, sellers, and traders in here that are interested in knowing how people feel about the SBB and if they will be making the trip to sell their cue or acquire a new one.

Thank you for posting this.

ok, let me apologize. things just rubbed me wrong. but thank you for posting this anyway.

Don't think u get it?

I don't think you understand. We thank him for posting it as well. But a question or topic thread goes in the "MAIN FORUM". There is nothing "for sale trade or wanted" here.that is what we are all saying, small error yes ,big deal no, but its educational to know these things go in the main section ,and stuff for sale/trade /wanted goes here that is all. Some do come across harsh but just giving you some info ,do as ya please but the moderators should either move it or delete it IMO

Dude-- all you have to do is just not post to, or read this thread. Problem solved. How this post effects someone from "trying to sell things" is just beyond me. Actually, as a buyer it is good. I didn't spend any money on this thread, so now I can buy more stuff! Woo-hoo!

Bob

ps- and last year did suck. Even worse than the first year when they had one change machine for the quarters and 1000 guys trying to get change. Yup, they charged by the game.

Dude - I do not make the rules, I just follow them. Especially #3...

Besides, you mostly sell books. You are not much of a buyer.

I agree the main forum would have been the right place. Normally, I never post in this forums other than to sell or buy something I guess it just rubbed me wrong. I'm going back to shoping for a new cue now.

thanks for the clarification. :-)

my post made me sound like I'm "worked up"?

you might want to reread your own post in which you referred to people as forum Nazis.

I thought I was calm, collected, and respectful. :)

Ah....as far as you know. Actually I would agree. I haven't been a big buyer the last few years. But in days-of-yore I had a table at the Expo. 5 or 6 years at least. Really haven't been a big buyer since I lost my poolroom. But, now that I have had a few cups of coffee I do agree. this really should be in the main forum.

It's just arguing with you guys when I am cranky in the morning is better than fighting with my wife. I ALWAYS lose that fight.

sbe

I just looked at the sbe website and the layout. They have 24 practice tables together and another 8 that are seperate from all of them. There will be plenty of room. I too wish they had more mini tournaments, but the action is where its at. Hopefully there is lots of action, last year was much less than recent years.
move this to the main forum, before somebody wets themself.

This past years venue was horrible (IMO).. There has been a LOT of grumbling about it...hopefully this years will be better in NJ..

Super Billiards Expo

I am so glad Many agree with me as I do not have to explain myself in detail. Thank you AZer's for the support. As for the few that don't understand they will just never get it. Just to add a touch - this SBE is Huge and has to do will all Forums as well as so much more for pool. Its not to be taken lightly and is very serious. Banks

You Should relax!!! Stop yelling please !

RELAX Man, You're getting way too worked up over a thread. It will all be over soon Just chill. No one died here!

You Should relax!!! STOP YELLING PLEASE !

1. How can you say it's bad before the experience? (Glass half empty?)

2. This should have not been posted in the for sale section PERIOD!

3. Brian was right (talk about relaxing YOUR YELLING not Brian.

I would love to see you NEGATIVE guys do better then what ALLEN has done for this sport.

I was thinking Allen may not read AZ so since I am friends with him on FB I sent him a message! He now knows Joe Banks is unhappy with his location choice of the 2013 SBE and I thought we should VOTE to tell Allen where he should have it! I hope you guy's won't mind but I voted for Chattanooga, Tennessee and I can walk there! Being friends with Allen I feel this will be where it is held. It will be closer for Murray,Dennis,Randy,Ron and Bob sorry Pete's and Barry....I think it will be known as SSBE= Southern Super Billiards Expo or he may just leave it SBE= Southern Billiards Expo either name is fine with me as long as Allen holds it here in Chattanooga! I let Allen know us Hillbillies like pool and BUY Cues and Cases all the time! I offered to bring some Gus Szamboti cues with me and if he would play a few games with me he could use one! I have a good feeling it will be held here in Chattanooga.....

I think he should hold it in the Pocono Mountains, one of the resorts could host it.
Allen, just keep sbe going like you do and I will be there every year.
You and your team do a good job imho.
SBE rock on!

Super Billiards Expo

I happen to live close to the Expo. However, here is a typical example- Many Gusts that arrive at the SBE traveled many miles and many hours. Either taken a plane or drove for a whole day or more. When they arrive they are tired from traveling. OK everybody knows this, but this is what the situation is. There are no Hotel rooms at the convention center. There are no restaurants at the convention center. Futhermore, during the show If one person in the party wants to take a nap or take a break it becomes a problem because they traveled as a group. How do you share one car when the hotels are 5 miles , 7 miles , 10 miles away. Besides who want to travel back and forth back and forth. the next point I will keep very brief. Don't you want to have some comforts after traveling very far and sending a lot of money. Such as having a swimming pool or a room to have a few beers with your buddies. OH Don't let me forget, wanting to walk on a carpet is asking to much. Banks---

Personally :

I feel this expo should be hosted in Baltimore Maryland! Not because I live close, but because it would be the best place to have one for many of reasons!

I feel exactly the same way,it now has happened at the 3 biggest events per year for me.The US Open ,the Derby City at the Executive West, and of course the Valley Forge location.I thought the changes would be just a matter of getting use to them but that is not the case, they are in my opinion just not as good as the locations they replaced.I never would have thought all 3 of those events would have had to change their venues.

I agree it was great at the radisson
good food
nice rooms on the property
better set up for venders
