Varney - gorgeous j/b...don't miss!

I have had at least 3 dealings with Kevin.1 was a little slow with reasonable communication but the other 2 were perfect. If Kevin had a cue that i wanted i would not hesitare to deal with him. Good luck with your sale Kevin, "country" Bob
p.s. How's your son doing?

This is a for/sale thread - please treat kevin with Respect- he is simply trying to sell yet another cue. anyone who knows anything about making cues knows- you'll pay in the end if any process of cuemaking is hurried.!!!!Why do some posters continue to _bring down someone's house- Good luck with the sale kevin. mark

Darn skippy! I've noticed that there are a ton of rude opinionated people in these forums. What ever happened to if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

I know a lot of the Maryland cuemakers and they will all tell you... you can't rush a good product. Most of them have a box of 20-30 cues waiting to be finished because each step has it's own waiting period.

Everything I've ever heard about Varney has been great. The guy is a good guy and a j/b cue is relatively simple to construct so cut the guy some slack.

His Family

i left a negative i trader. being late puts him in the same league as Ed Prewitt????!!!!

being late is one thing. being late and having extra cues to sell before you complete standing orders is another.

They have to eat too while he's getting caught up.Hope you never fall behind and have others bash you., "country" Bob

So...let me get this straight. You are saying that no cuemaker should sell any finished cue as long as he has standing orders? You really have no clue do you?
Sam you have bashed me & bashed me...to the point of stalking. You even pm my customers asking details of their transaction...when its none of your business & has nothing to do with you. Yes...I was late on your cue & you sold your spot. The gentleman that bought your spot was very pleased with his cue...even had me make him a j/b to go with it. In fact he is so pleased with my work that he has ordered several more cues.
To be point blank Sam...I have bills to pay & mouths to feed. You need not worry about when I sell a cue & to whom. It does not concern you. As much as you HATE to see it...all my orders are being filled. Yes some are more late than others but ALL are getting filled...period. Maybe I should call Ed Brown and tell him its wrong for him to sell anymore pistols since my custom ordered .45 is so late.

Neutral party here who doesn't own or may never own a Varney cue...good post. Nice looking cue, good luck with the sale.

I understand that he has been late on delivery dates and not been the best in the past with communication. Ok, well in my book and my dealings with cue makers, that puts him in the same league as Ed Prewitt and Ernie Gutierrez. I don't see anyone bashing them to death!!!

A) Did you really just put Kevin Varney in the same group as Ernie and Ed Prewitt???

B) The fact that you don't see anyone bashing guys like Ernie and Ed speak VOLUMES about the product that Kevin puts out.

C) You don't exactly see Ernie and Ed on this site every 5 minutes touting their cues as the greatest creations by the hand of man, do you? No. Because they are busy making cues and filling their orders. They may take a little longer because it takes them time to make the components of their cues, cut the points, the inlays, etc..

I was going to stay out, but just had to laugh at this, as I know FOR A FACT Ed Brown doesn't require payment in full up front.... Neither does Wilson or Les Baer.

So you are saying that while he is waiting for the wood to cure between turnings or waiting for one coat of finish to dry before spraying it again, he should just sit and wait?? Watch TV maybe??

Or maybe he should just rush the cues out so that people get their cues quickly and in ORDER? No need to worry about warping or bad finish:rolleyes:

I would think that that "in between" time would be best spent working on other cues, misc items for sale. No??

Maybe my thinking is warped......

Russ

being so backed up in orders i figured he'd be working on different cues that people have already put down payments on. you don't think that would work? or did all his orders hit at once and so he only has to work on 1 stage of building at a time so build other cues in his down time would make sense

people that have no clue on cuemakering should not comment on the processes reguarding cuemaking.....

thats the problem with this industry compared to some others...

i guess i'm way off base then. i take back everything i've ever said anyone who hasn't already should order a varney

I don't get it........

Who has actually been burnt by KV?? I'm not talking about him being late on a delivery or lack of communication. I'm talking about someone who has paid for a cue and KV has NOT delivered a cue. Anyone??? Because if that's the case, I have not read about it on here and KV has NO negative iTrader (except the one from Craig -Manwon. And from what I know, Craig has NEVER even dealt with KV).

I understand that he has been late on delivery dates and not been the best in the past with communication. Ok, well in my book and my dealings with cue makers, that puts him in the same league as Ed Prewitt and Ernie Gutierrez. I don't see anyone bashing them to death!!!

So, let's hear it, has KV actually STOLEN money from anyone on AZ???

Russ...

Good question Russ. I'm guessing there won't be a definitive "yes" in any of the answers.

Just do a search for "Kevin Varney".

75% of the threads/posts will be him talking about how his cues are the greatest cues on the face of the earth.

20% will likely be people telling their stories of how they paid up front and have nothing to show for it, are still waiting, can't get in touch with Kevin and their order is months late, etc., etc..

The other 5% will be a mix of a few dedicated fans talking about how awesome Kevin and his cues are, and a few guys selling their 'monster Varneys'. My favorite thread thus far (there are sooooo many to read) is the Kristy Carter thread. Awesome.

Would you like me to send you an autographed poster for your wall?
All of this from someone who has NEVER done any business with me or even spoken with me.
