Somebody sent me this link about the U.S. Army in Iraq. Somehow I can see my nephew getting a kick out of this. He left for Iraq last Monday for a 15-month tour of duty.

Thanks to all of you who are serving, and have served, you all have my respect and support. I joined the Army in early 2000, got medically discharged a year later for an injury.
I'll never forget, I think it was my second week of basic. We were at chow in the mess hall, and I was complaining to my buddy about how much I was sick of one of our drill sergeants that liked to train us out in the field alot longer than the other two we had. Without saying a word, my buddy pointed to a sign on the wall inside the mess hall, which read: "Shall the soul of no fallen soldier ever cry, "Had I the proper training..."
Needless to say I shut up after reading that.

There hasn't been a day that's gone by where I haven't been honored to serve with each of the four branches. I've worked more joint-service assignments than any three people have a right to....and good-natured ribbing notwithstanding....each assignment has been great.
Anybody who has worn (or currently wears) a uniform is family to me.
Happy Veteran's Day to each and every one of you. My best to you and your families.

Thanks to all the vetrans, i'm to much of a pussy to ever have been in the military-i'm being honest. I have the highest respect for those who serve, I made a contribution at the Air Force Base in Vegas a month ago. I pay my taxes to support our country, granted I do ***** and moan about it, I will never say anything negitive about anyone who served and protected out country. my taxes are jack shit compaired to what the Vets have done, Thanks again.

When people make remarks to me about serving our country and all that crap, I tell them to thank someone who actually did something. Someone who actually served in combat. Those are the ones that deserve the respect.

I remember having two cousins in SE Asia at the same time. I wrote to my cousin Justin, in Korea and told him how relieved I was that he, too, wasn't in Viet Nam. He wrote back and said "do you think they are not shooting at us here?" I didn't know. The news and sadness was all about VietNam.
Fortunately both my cousins came back more serious, but better men.
I thank all that have served so that I or my children have not had to.
My 50 year old brother just activated his reserve duty. It's still scary to think once again it may affect my immediate family.
Your pictures brought back such gut wrenching memories. Let us never forget. I am glad you survived to remind us. Thank you again.
