Vintage Palmer

you should know that a lot of real buyers for higher priced cues will not bother to respond without a price.

Correct

I might be interested by I will not pusue without a price. The PM route is the same as an auction.

Palmer Cue

maha and Wedge are correct. I might be interested in your cue as well but without a price listed I won't go to the next step, which is asking about the weight of the butt & shafts, lengths, straightness, etc. which should also have been described in your post.

The one thing that always gets me is the statement "accepting reasonable offers". It begs the question, reasonable to who? To me since I'm the one that made the offer? Or to you, the seller? If it is to you the seller, then you need to give me what your expectations are. How can I make an offer that you would consider reasonable without knowing what your reasonable is? (but I think we all know where the asking price is going since you were warned that the Blue Book of Cues said the foil made it 150%....)

Anyway, I think I used to own that cue.....I sold it (or one just like it) years ago at the Hopkins Expo. I had three shafts as well. Just sayin.......

Forearm blank

The front is not a Szam unless Palmer bought it as a second.
If it is straight I offer $850.

Nick :)

cue

Nice looking cue. It is a # 14 from the 3rd catalogue. Quite a few were made but still nice looking for an unrestored cue. Post a price and it would do much better. I agree Nick that doesn't look like a Szam forarm. Wrong colors and too short. I would say 1000.00 tops.

I knew this would turn into an Auction

On the serious side. Could you please add photo's of the shaft and joint inserts. That will help me date the cue and make an offer. Also let me know if the shafts roll straight apart and together with the butt.

Thanks

You could pawn this stick for that .. you own a pawn shop or what? Have you been watching too many episodes of Pawn Stars?
Canwin

I have owned many Palmers. Nick's offer is very fair.

I doubt that the forearm is a Szam (some of the points seem off)...confirmation of it being one would increase desirability somewhat.

The Blue Book is far, far off base in their "values" in the Palmers....the silver tape does NOT increase their value by 150%.

Chris Tate ( www.palmercollector.com ) is much more "on" in his pricing:

Yours appears in "average/good" condition....$900-1000. These cues just don't bring mega-dollars, but they are great cues to have in your collection.
