Vintage pool room pics

Great pics. And what a mix, some rooms looked really grand with high, detailed ceilings and nice old architecturally detailed walls, and others....well, the old neighborhood dive.

I recall when I was a kid in NY, all the frontal plate glass of the pool halls were blackened, or greened, out, either to keep the light out, or to keep anyone from looking inside. Always wondered what was behind that green glass.

As soon as I became sixteen I found out....it was pretty cool.

Great pics - thanks for sharing.
Makes you wonder where all those tables are today.

Nice photos

It would be awesome if people remembered some of them.
A couple look familiar to me as rooms in alabama but I am not sure.

One looks like the room Luther Lassiter used to have or play in. Its on page four and is on the right one up from the bottom.

I think someone from here a year or two ago posted a picture and either talked about playing there or the room closing. Bran P maybe??? Probably way off on the name.

Yes, it was BranPureza. Luther's home room was in Elizabeth City, NC. Middle of nowhere.

Cuebuddy,

Thanks for sharing, I always enjoy looking through billiard items.

I'm glad to see someone else is posting some "eye candy". I have been going through some boxes of my collection and posting some pics. I posted a room picture similar to this one a few days back.

Does anyone know if this Chicago pool hall was still in business when some our older members started playing? It certainly is not meant as a dig, I'm in the second highest group, in a poll taken in another thread.
