I e-mailed them about what happened. I actually thought the response was quick considering it is a weekend. Here is the reply.

"Twice a week, the system runs a sweep for voting bots and people who try to cheat the vote. When the system sweeps the vote, no votee is singled out as the system is automated. All player votes are affected in some way; some percentages go up, and some go down. Last week's system sweep moved Austin up one spot at least. I hope this answers your question."

I'll just bet you're talking 'bout Young Tyler, who isn't so young anymore, I guess. :p

This is the biggest load of crap I have read in a long time. I seriously doubt there were any"bots" voting, or any cheating votes. I doubt there is even a way to cheat it, but maybe I am wrong.

I know there is one guy on here that keeps talking about hitting the submit button many times very quickly in an effort to try to get extra votes in. I think he made the suggestion for Austin voters in this thread. It has also been suggested as a quicker way to get your votes in.

I tried it a couple of times to see if in fact the system was compromised and being cheated by people out there. It does allow you to put all your votes in at once, but it still cuts you off at your voting limit. It does not allow any extra votes so you cannot cheat by doing it this way as someone claimed.

What I wonder is if their program is set up to catch these votes that are placed by the same login too close together, thinking they might be a bot. That would be a lot of legimate votes being deleted and possibly changing the outcome of the match selection if it is true. In the future, I would recommend that everyone place their votes one by one in case these are the votes they are deleting. I also hope that the IPT will look into this, and if this was the case, restore all the votes that were within people's voting limits, regardless of how fast they chose to vote.
 
I apologize for the suggestion about clicking the submit button multiple times. Just thought it would save time. I think the only way to "cheat" the system is to create multiple basic memberships so a single person is voting more than the intended limit.

A warning is given when you buy or make a payment to not click more than once to avoid multiple purchases. Their system is flawed. I really hope they make an adjustment.

Here's what I got for ya junior. I been playin since the age of 10.. By the age of 12 and 13 I started to hear complaints of my age while in pool tournaments or bars.. Mainly because the older crowd didn't like losing to a young kid. But they complained it was just because of my age that I shouldn't be there. Anyway, When your young like that you will always have someone against you for any reason what so ever.

Don't sweat the small stuff, Find a way to keep the love for the game, and focus on where you want to go in the game of pool..

he is back to 3rd place as of this exact moment of my post, however I would love to see Austin play to be honest, I never seen him play OK, but i saw his picture and i saw his posts and for me a 14 year old kid that is really confident (obviously from his posts) is a champ in my book. yesterday i voted 5 for you. and today i am willing to vote another 5 for you Austin! goodluck.

There was a thrilling match I saw the tail end of in Vegas between Austin and Danny "Kid Delicious" Basavich.

I thought Austin was going to win on the infamous double hill, but he missed a shot that gave Danny the opportunity to capture the almighty win.

Everybody in the audience was captivated by this young man. His brother was there rooting him in, as was his father. I think his brother plays pool, too, as I recall.

At any rate, it was a good match and a nice pool time to be had by all, seeing the kid almost beat the Kid. :p

There are some Austin naysayers out there but I bet that 99% of them end up watching this match. The curiousity to see how the 14 year old kid performs against one of the best in the world will be too much to resist. In fact I bet the match gets more viewers than any previous challenge match.

I also bet that unless his nerves get the best of him (not likely), that win or lose Austin will earn most people's respect by the time the match is over.
 
He could have (and should have) beat Shane in Reno and missed due to nerves.

If he can learn from that , Efren will be well challenged.

I just voted another 5 for austin! and this will be a really exciting match imho! Austin a young guy who plays really good with confident. and a legend of pool in all times efren reyes! I can't wait to see this matchup

(Hopefully a great commentating for this one, I'd vote Billy incardona with Mike sigel for this one) !!

Congratulations to Austin for being selected (still unofficial and last minute hijinks would not be surprising) as a people's choice pick in the next challenge match! You asked for the support, and it was given. Now in return all you need to do is start practicing hard right away so you can do your very best, and above all display a good attitude and sportsmanship throughout the event.
