Guys,

I'm working out a design and color scheme for a cue...and wanted to get some serious opinions. Since I WANT these opinions...and since this is where I spend most of my time here on AZB....I figure the Wanted Board would be the best bet.

I'm looking at 4 points of Ebony into BEM, and looking to get 4 veneers per point. There will be some Tiffany or notched diamond inlay work, too (1 per point, and 4 in the sleeve). Right now, I'm thinking of doing natural, blue, green, and black....but I'm having problems finding a cue that's a good example of that color scheme.

Anybody out there got a real sharp set of veneers on a BEM and Ebony cue???? I want the cue to "pop" with the veneers....so shoot me a reply with your favorite color combo for these two woods.

Feel free to attach a pic if you have one, so I can actually SEE what they look like.

Thanks,

Mark

I used to own a Ginacue with those colors, but did not save the pictures.

There are a bunch of them with natural/Green/Blue/Black, and those are not hard to find. One of my favorite examples of this was Marcus's Tascarella. It has a very white maple nose, and the veneers just pop.

For my money, the two that are hard to beat are:

Black/Maple/Black/Maple - Very classy, and the contrast really brings out the wood in the nose, and

Black/Bright Red/Black/Maple - You'll see MANY Szamboti's, or old school copies as this is one of the most classic combinations you will find.

If I had to pick a third, it would probably be the Black/Mahogony/Light Blue/Maple combo. Again, very classy and will match pretty much any type of inlays theme you can think up.

I've said it before....

...it don't get any better than this:

Mark,
Here is a Sly Hoppe cue that I have with 4 veneers of blue, green, blue, black. They "pop".

I'm still crying over not being 5 minutes earlier on the
forum to get this one from you Mike:

This pic is from Tikkler's Jimmy Szamboti cue that he posted awhile ago. I think it is pretty much perfect.

I would go with black, orange, yellow, white from outside to inside.

Do you mean something like this? It is not quite the same, but it is the flame veneers which are very nice, IMO.

Hey, Mark-

The ones on my Szamboti which I had to sell I think were the nicest I have ever seen, pic enclosed. In person, the blue and green blended together beautifully.

Veneers

Here are some ebony into BEM veneers. I have some more but I have to dig them out and take some pics.
These are not good pics, I now have a better camera, and should be able to start taking higher quality pics.

The ebony into BEM is on one of the Runde's, one Klein, one Josswest, and the Richard Black cue. If you want some better pics PM me and I will send you some via email
