I'd like to violate Mars Callahan with a pool cue for this horrible excuse of a "pool movie". Then orally sodomise Freddie Prinze Jr with said pool cue for vomiting up Shooting Gallery.

:yikes: do cues have tongues? (j/k, I get it, but it took a few seconds of raw imagery)

There goes my goodie two shoes opinion of you Marissa! "When I see you coming I'll step aside. Cause many didn't and many died."

One thing I'm not to thrilled about is I was about half way threw the film and the link Died .

Me too (as I mentioned in prior post). I tried back after my wait time of 54 minutes and it worked fine and got me the happy ending. I simply scrolled to where I left off and watched the lion go off and eat all the hyenas. I swear, I never saw THAT coming. ;)

I had to watch the last 18 minutes. Never saw it before. I enjoyed it well enough. I didn't dislike it like some here have made subtle mention. I mean I am not gonna go get a pro taper for anyone's nether region, but that's just me.

I love the way you think!! Except I might have to trade out the prop. :embarrassed2:

Thank you this is one of my favorite movies. I have seen this one more than "The Hustler" and "Color of Money".

....................:yikes:

Hustler is the best....

The Hustler is the best followed by TCOM, but I did like this movie too.

I mean it's ok if you can get past and use the willing suspension of disbelief for things like a race to five for 40K..... and then complain about back and forth bull$h!t???? How can you be racing to five and not have back and forth Bull$h!t??????

That is a little ridiculous.....

See, thats what separates us pool players apart from the bangers....we pool players are ALWAYS racing to 5 for 40k and its constantly going back and forth, back and forth....so at the end of the night, everyone goes home with all the money thay went to the pool hall with, minus beer money of course..and nobodys feelings are hurt.....

To the OP, you had good intentions and I salute you....

IMHO, a bad pool movie is better than a good chick flick.....even if said pool movie can only be watched in 20 minute increments before you need a day break to force yourself into another 20 minute session and it takes like 4 days to finish (Shooting Gallery) :D

I don't mind the movie. Of course, 'The Hustler' and 'COM' are much better movies, but I can sit through 'Pool Hall Junkies'. There are some really lame parts that will make any pool player roll their eyes.
However, Ricky Schroder played the part to a T. That stroke was a thing of beauty. With that stroke and cue, I would have guessed he was the #1 ranked pool player in the world!:grin-square:
Compared to some of the other pool movies out, 'Pool Hall Junkies' could win an Academy Award for best picture.

They could have made this movie a lot better with a bit more flesh and a lot more of the waitress "body karate', DAMN! and drop that one line 'I paid for your shot' and just have them come to blows or something.

Walken was awesome as always. And the SouthWest did not hurt at all. that pool hall seemed to be portrayed as a dealer for them

I liked it! Guys it's not reality it's a movie! lol It was ment to be entertaining not instructional. I kind of put it in a class of say The fast and the furious. You don't honestly believe that someone doing 150 down a city street would be looking over at there laptop in the passanger seat ;) but the movie was fun to watch. There were someone really good characters in the movie and walkin was great.

the movie did win best picture at the sundance film festival so it must have been doing something right.

I will say when I first rented PHJ's i was actually entertained.... but then I bought the VHS version lol back in like 2003 or 4 idk. And watched it over n over, and then I realized that nobody who's GOOD really shoots like that all the time, meaning shooting every shot 100mph.

yes the cheesy lines were at times a bit annoying, but the body karate was actually pretty good.

As for the whole " i paid for your shot " line, it was a hustle move,,,, in all reality, say your playing a match, and the same thing comes into play. If your witty enough wouldnt you try and play the same move??? yes you might come to blows but your " paying to shoot his shot "

Now as for bad pool movies, did anyone even try watching StickMen??? i rented it and it was ehhhhhh the whole race to 1 was crazy, and missing the 8 caused you to lose the match WTF?

I bought a copy when they were first released and could only stand to watch a few minutes of that "piece of guano".

It sucked so bad, I took it out to the Trap Range and used it for target practice. It sailed really nice over the edge of the cliff.

I don't think the movie is that bad except for one thing...why in the hell is the "pro" using one of those POS graphite type cues?(wait...it is an all ebony cue including the shaft right? lol;) )

I don't know about any of you, but the use of the F word in every other sentence got old very fast.
