Well, Well..........

Congrats. If you got there, you deserve it! You only get there by contributing (immensly) to the forum...pure & simple.

With that said, I just hope your back doesn't catch as many arrows as Larry's did for taking the #1 spot.

Or Fatboy's either.

I have spoken with Mike H. About this last week.

The idea was to have ALL the Hall of Famers at the top of the rep list with Smorg on top of course.

Mike said that he is the only one that could write the code for that and he will see what he can do.

I also don't think Smorg would like his name in red, green or gold would be much more fitting. IMO.

Ray

Ben & Fellow Azers.

I just spoke with Mike about this again a few minutes ago. He said it would be after Valley Forge before he could work on it any more.

If it's possible, It WILL happen. Mike sounds confident.

I woke up this morning an to my suprise am #1. Heres is what I would like to see done with the rep. I would like to see Smorg placed atop of the rep race an left there as a tribute to him (nobody could do it like the Smorg).
I would like to see Smorg also given the title of all-time rep king. I think Smorg's name in red is not good. I think green would be better. I think Mike an the powers that be would be receptive or atleast I hope they would be. Lets do something good for a change an not turn this into any
kind of flame thread or something stupid. This is about a tribute to someone we admired an have lost, surely he deserves more than his name in red................Lets all ban together an solicit the powers that be an see what we can get done............I've had a lot of fun doing the pow-wow with my rep buddies but Smorg is #1 to me an I think the majority of you feel the same...........Lets make it Happen...............

Lots of hugs.
It's a great plan Smorgie should be king, I kinda like his name in red.
Anyway, thanks for being a stand up guy about it.

I didn't know you could see the rep rankings. Where do I find this?

I have often wondered this too, since there happen to be so many posts about it, but still have no idea how to see it after the above answer....I don't see a COMMUNITY to click??? Oh well, just curious, no real need to know.

Ok, I found it by switching formats and following the directions above....I'm on page 6 behind someone who's made 11 posts total. Shows how good my posts are...lol.

Nowadays "good" isn't the primary criteria:sorry:

Sorry...not a democrazy...

:bow-down:Mike is the power that be, he makes the decisions and he can write code.

Coding takes "TIME".......... Mike has to weigh the pro/cons of every action he does on his website (it is hard to stay "politically correct" with so many opinions).

Also, remember there have been several "greats" on AZB (all the the prespective of the beholder). That is why the thread "AZB Hall of Fame" was created. Please do not be disappointed if this does not happen. Please remember that several people (dear to AZB fans) have passed.

Mike did a special tribute by opening the "AZB Hall of Fame" so people could be remembered. You can still go in an "rep" Smorg forever. (he wont be out of site out of mind) He also made it special by placing the name in Red (which will not be used for any other reason).

Smorgie will always be #1 with me. :p He was a lot of fun. I went back and read about 30 of his threads a few days ago; just for a good laugh.

D,

I do agree that there are many "GREAT" AZBers that we have lost over the years......BUT....There was only one Smorgass Bored. He was the KING of REP and had a lot of really great posts too.

Even if there is no way to "code" all the HOF ers to the top of the rep list, I think Mike could at least blast Smorg a few million every so often. I know no one would mind at all!

I with you on this one, Smorg #1 forever! Congrats on your #1. Some rep for you for your suggestion on Smorg.

As of now P, FB, T, SA, JA and a few others are very worthy # 2's:)

(kinda like the G SZAM/BUSHKA vs contemporary maker thing)

Wonderful............

I just got through browsing through all of the posts an the replys were great. Maybe if we continue with the response, we will be heard. Surely the title All time Rep King is not asking to much.................Long live the King.............................

Great idea... One that we all can live with and enjoy. Even in his passing, Smorgie brings us together in a common bond.

Priceless

Congrats on the accomplishment....and this is a pretty classy move. Like others have said, if you get that far you deserve to be there.

This is an excellent idea, I think it would be a fitting tribute. Doug is the one who engineered the rep explosion, he should be immortalized as the "Rep Master", imo.

I also don't like the red lettering for Smorgass Bored. Green or gold would be better.

Well, well....
I certainly don't want to take any glory from Smorg but I can say that there are a few other posters on here that may one day be #1. I can think of 2 right now without giving anything away. ;)

I don't want to take that opportunity away for another "great" to rise up and surprise us all. I don't think Doug would want that either. (here ...let me ask him.....hmmmm)

We need to remember he was a very giving person... whether it be "spice" or just a hard time. :)

It's easy to jump on a band wagon. It's hard to make the right decision and/or please the wagon members. Again, Mike's job is not easy. Watching and listening and helping him all day isn't a "bowl full of cherries" either.

Still, Mike will do what he feels is in the best interest of the AZB site LONG term.
Hugs
Donna
