What are the most perfect rolling (straight) cues that you have ever had?

Taper

I got ten bucks that if someone rolled out 15 cues that everyone had a different taper on it, that 1 out of ten thousand cue makers would be able to id them all without doing on the spot research ..

I don't think I can even remember but maybe 1/4 of all the different tapers.
And then There are the tapers that I think the inventor named it after their fat wife, like Parabolic .

How in the hell does someone come up with a name like that ...

That's easy.
She was a paranoid diabolic woman.

Gilbert, Lambros, Capone, Haley, Scruggs, Bender, DALE PERRY, Runde, Rick Howard, Durbin, Omen, ALOT MORE-Showman, Phillippi, South West-
All rolled nice and straight- together and apart

How is it that you and I have been on this forum for over ten years and I've never seen your almost 3,000 posts? You post in other subs besides main and npr probably.

Anywsy, nice to meet you familiar stranger. :)

To break it down, a parabola is a symmetrical open plane curve formed by the intersection of a cone with a plane parallel to its side. The path of a projectile under the influence of gravity ideally follows a curve of this shape kind of like the St. Louis Arch. I think he designed it to look like his fat wife's butt.

Really the only way to really know is to spin the cue in a lathe.

There are reasons a cue will roll off even if the shaft and handle are straight.

Good point - but you are wasting your time and knowledge - I have been explaining for
years why rolling a cue is wasted effort. People want to roll cues and want it to matter.

I have devised a super secret plan to extract my revenge on those who are addicted
to cue rolling.

I would be willing to bet that none of them roll 100% perfect. Roll them together and apart very slowly on a pool table, and then tell me that you do not see any light at all underneath any part of the shafts. I may be completely wrong, but it is something that I have rarely ever seen.

Once more with feeling - that can happen with a shaft that is straighter than a rifle barrel.

Dale(who has made rolling pins that roll perfect)<ly>

I have had predators, lambros, joss, black boar catalog, frey, and now a mezz.

All of my pred 314's and z's were straight enough but had tiny taper rolls. The lambros was straight after a facing issue was addressed. Joss was dead straight, but that could of been due to the really thick taper in the shafts and butt. I have to say that I'm actually quite disappointed in my frey as both the butt and shaft have a roll, but my standards are pretty high.

Now the Mezz...this cue's wx700 shaft is the straightest shaft I have ever seen when rolled. Barely any variation in light. When screwed together and rolled with the shaft off a table or ledge, you can't even tell the cue is moving. The tip has no bobble or movement with this test. The cue is super super straight. Really impressed by that type of quality.

Must add in too that my first gen 314 is dead nuts straight, even after 10+ years of heavy use. They dont make 314's like that anymore.

Lol

Exactly my point . too funny

"What are the most perfect rolling (straight) cues that you have ever had?"

Is there anything more than straight?
Is there another level above straight that is called "perfect rolling (straight)"?
Way I see it if a cue is straight there's only one level of straight.

All my cues roll straight, from the cheapest to the most expensive.

I took my 1985 Joss MW to SBE a few years ago to show Dan Janes. At the time, it was their least expensive model and all three pieces are dead straight. The extra care put into their cues keeps them playable 30 years later.

All of my cues/shafts are straight together and apart. Schick (‘93), Showman (‘00), Szamboti (’06), Joss (‘85), Peppers (‘12), Meucci (’92). My South West (’91) was straight when I sold it 20 years later. I treat my cues with a lot of care and it pays off.

For cues that are a few years old, absolutely dns (dead nuts straight) is rare for sure.
Maybe one in 20 to 50. I have had more then a few obviously (sold thousands of cues).
Of the new cues, nowadays most of them are perfect when they arrive.

Mezz are usually dns, Predator, espescially gen 2 almost always had a small roll, straight from the factory.

"Predator, especially gen 2 almost always had a small roll, directly from the factory.

fixed that for you, buddy.
