He guys i have been playing pool for a long time but never got serious about it. Now i want to and start playing local leagues and then work my way up to individual tournaments. However before i do this i would like to get some good advice and fixes.

I live in Kentucky and not to far away from this guy named Stann Shuffett who gives lessons and is supose to be one of the best.

The guy teaches an aming system caled the pro one cte aiming system. I was wondering if any of you have ever used this before or taken lessons from this guy and what you think about him or the system. Is it worth the money?

The course i am thinking about taking is his

Stroke analysis/feedback and drills which is 7 hours for $245
the course outline is as followed
STROKE ANALYSIS/FUNDAMENTALS/PRO ONE
1. Personal Video p. 6
2. The Cueing Instrument p. 6
3. Mechanics p. 7
4. Stroke Demonstration p. 14
5. Video Feedback p. 14
6. PRO ONE p. 14
7. The Stroke p. 16
8. Practice Stroking p. 21
9. Eye Patterns p. 21
10. The Pockets and Basic PRO ONE Aiming p. 22
11. Just Cue It Core Drills p. 23
12. PRO ONE Cut Shots p. 29
13. PRO ONE and Spin p. 34
14. PRO ONE (Adjustments for Thin Cuts) p. 34
15. PRO ONE Banking p. 35
16. Combinations p. 38
17. PRO ONE Caroms p. 38
18. PRO ONE Safety Play p. 39

I have heard nothing but positive feedback about his personal lessons.... While I currently don't know anything about CTE from the source just the driving by the scene of a bad wreck aspect of it keeps me interested....

I am all for systems and good instruction... Stevie Moore had nothing but praise when I asked him about it... Robley and JoeyA both had good words from just the past weekend... $35 an hour is hard to beat for good instruction....

There is some guy named Brownback, Brimbuck or something like that in Kentucky that can play a little and gives lessons as well... If you want to play like you are from KY you will want to learn banks... stuuraight backs and all... Think he goes by JBKY on AZ ;)

Never heard of him. ;-)

Stan is a great guy who will help your game a lot.

Take a look at a recent thread on here. Your question is easily answered. Stan is the best choice to take lessons from, he knows pool inside and out.

Stan is a great guy and very well respected in the industry. I have never taken lessons from him but I know him and his son Landon. Both of them are examples of true class.

All of the reviews I have heard about Stan's instruction is that he is a very good teacher who is easy to work with.

What are you waiting for, go sign up for Stan's class!

In the Instructor field, Stan is regarded as one of the best!

A lot of us were using CTE long before Stan's DVD on it came out. I've heard nothing but good things about Stan and hope to visit him myself sometime next year. If that is still the price, it's a great deal, especially if you are near him in Kentucky.

As usual, Justin said it perfect.

Stan's a great guy, along with Landon. Better people you will not find.

I've taken the all day course from Stan that you mention.. Stan pointed out a lot of things in my setup and fundamentals that helped me tremendously. He is an awesome communicator, teacher and pool player. With that said he is an even better guy.

I also got the Pro One lesson but it's just not for me. I'm not saying that it does not work, I just chose to aim like I have been doing for 20+ years, I never could really grasp it myself.

The money was well spent and I'd not hesitate to take another lesson from Stan. I have visited several of the top instructors in the country and IMHO, Stan was the one that I got the most from. He's also a man of very high integrity which is the most important thing to me.

Cheers, JoeyK

Great thank guys sounds like i should take lessons from this guy. I contacted him you have to book 2 months in advance for him so I may go ahead and schedule something for December. He lives about 2 hours away so can get there pretty easily.

You're lucky to live so close. If I were that close to Stan I would have been there already.

$35 and hour sounds pretty darn good to me. I know a couple of pro players locally and they want way more than that.

I have not had a lesson one on one with Stan but I did get a lesson in Shannon's GSBT tournament recently when I had to pay Stan and whatever he was doing was working because in 9 games he never missed a shot, Guess I found out first hand how Lanndon got so good!

As Hal would say, "All you do is shoot the same shot over and over. It's always that same shot."
