When you play for money what cue do you trust?
Not a list of great builders! Name your best hitting cue!!!!
What tip and shaft taper?
Do you break with that cue?
Pictures please.

Kamui 2 Hard

Very stiff, Mason would know the technical specs

I do break with the cue, 8-ball only.

I have two cues that I normally play with, the first is a WW cue made by Steve Kornelle and Greg Willingham, one of the best playing cues I have ever owned and the second is a maple South West.

Hercek 19.5oz 12.5mm shafts moori medium tips

20.5 oz hoppe Hercek. It is the best of all of the cues i have played with and I will tell you I have played with more than one from plenty of the best. There is 1 Barry that Vinniebarbarooch has that hits very well though but he won't sell it.

Marcus for Money i would

Alternate between my Gilbert full splice and a 59" Barry. The Gilbert is 19.6 with 12.8mm tip on the playing shaft, Moori Med old stock tip. The Szam is right at 20oz and also 12.8mm with LePro tip. If I'm out bar banging, it's usually a simple sneaky conversion I made out of an old Dufferin....linen joint collars and butt with 12.8mm buckhorn ferrule. Moori Med old stock tip. Break with a dedicated j/b with phenolic tip for 8 or 9-ball...playing cue for 1P.

59" Barry?

These are mine. The playing and jump cue are titlist conversions I built and the break cue is one I made from an old Brunswick.

My new main player is by Leon Sly, 18.7oz. The only cue I've ever liked better than my previous main player, also a Sly.

An old pre-dot Meucci 97-21 atm. Might upgrade soon. My meucci is so old the ivory bits are turning yellow and the shaft could pass for an old growth :D

I play with a steve dunkel sneaky pete with a 314 2 predator shaft. I have another fancy one im trying to sell. And I just got a paul sumrall cue and i'm getting use to it. It hits rock soild.

I currently play with the Deano cue that John NImick in Dallas made for me,it is a full splice with a big wood screw like the billiard cues,59 inches with a taper that is a straight linear progressive(kinda like a house cue)or european taper.
I could be playing with a Graciocue, but the cuemaker is so concerned with getting it right that I am waiting.
It is hardto put the deano down, but II always liked fancy cues and if my new gracio plays good too?

Hi Scott,nice thread

DEAN

I play and break with a cheap player, Artemis, I think is made in China, I paid like 30 $ for it :)))) 19 BP, Tiger Emerald tip. For jump I use a short Sterling for children, which I removed the weight and installed a very short Super Pro tip. It jumps very well. Hope to make some order for a custom in the future.

What tips?

SAME WITH MINE........LOL

I USE A WRAPLESS FULLSPLICE TASCARELLA, WITH A MATCHED FIRST GENERATION 314 SHAFT. 19.6 OUNCES, 12.5MM, HARD WIZARD TIP.....

CUE.jpg

YES, ALL THOSE SHAFTS ARE MATCHED ORIGINAL 314'S

BREAK CUE IS 25 OUNCES, 14MM W/ BILLIARD TAPER, SMOOTH BLACK LEATHER

Do all the matching shafts have different tips? If so what kind? Just curious. Do you have better pics of the cue? That's baddass. Similar to what I am making. Thanks!

I play with a Lucasi cocobolo plain jane with a leather wrap. Best $225 i ever spent on a cue. It really looks a lot better then this picture i got off a web site. I get a lot of compliments on it.
