What foods are the best to eat for good focus?

Okay you guys want the ultimate recipe for pre game meals?

1: 5-7 Budweisers (depending on your tolerance)
2: basket of mini pups (those miniature deep fried corndogs)
3: a sack of Skittles
4: half a pack of Camels
5: repeat step 1 if your aim is a little off (they don't call it aiming fluid for no reason)

Russ, I want to hear more about the Kid Delicious DVDs, so instead of waiting breathlessly,
I will try to get you to forget about this thread, by providing the following links. The picture
on the first one is worth a good laugh. It's someone we all probably know playing the guitar.

Tuna is good to eat before a test, so I would imagine it is good to eat before playing too.

Food

Whatever makes you feel good, calm, and clear headed.

My recommendations:
1) Fruit - I prefer canned, like pears, peaches. (or fruit juice os some kind).
2) Ice cream.
3) Melons - water melon, honeydew melon, or cantalope

P.S: I Consume Two Shots Of Distilled Vinegar and One Rocotillo Pepper from South America Before Each Major Event or Trip, For Focus.

That would give me such a bad stomach ache and gas that I wouldn't be able to focus. And with all that gas, the person I was playing probably wouldn't be able to focus either.

Well, ha ha yourself...:D

It's always funny when someone shows what a fool they are WHILE making fun of someone else.

It's been proven many times over that the healthier you are, the better your mind works.

So, food for working out and getting healthy IS "focus food".

Still laughing? I am! :D :D :D

I think the 40/30/30 diet is best for us humans: Caloric intake of 40%carb- 30%protein- 30%fat (avoiding saturated fat as much as possible, of course).

That said, I am also of the opinion that a consistent intake is further beneficial, meaning eating the same types of food. I feel that it allows your body to learn to process the foods more efficiently/ effectively.

try some rice, it just have a pure aspect of feeling good to it and being in a good mood is a good way to play better, i think.

Especially brown rice. The instant stuff is comparitively crap...

Fish a veggie??

I have seen some great ones so far. V8 is excellent because it is full of potassium which gives you energy. All fruit but especially bananas help your stamina also for the potassium. I am a vegetarian so I like to eat some almonds or fish for the protein value. Have a big feed of fish an hour before you play and you'll be good to go. Lots of water helps keep you hydrated.

Typical vegetarian. . I did not know that fish was a veggie?? I'm still learning though.

Try eating 2 of the 12hr Sudafeds (the good ones behind the counter that you have to sign for) and washing them down with a Red Bull or two.:D
That'll have you focused for hours!!!;)

gauranteed improvement

butterfly livers, sauted in eye of newt sauce. served on a bed of ringtail lizard tounge. this and practice, practice, practice will improve your game by at least 8%

For major events (playing maybe once or twice a day):

Do not eat within 3-4 hours before a match. The meal before should be primarily complex carbohydrates.

During the match, drink water. Not enough to get full on. Just enough to maintain your hydration.

No caffeine or sugars (they will cause you to spike & crash energy wise).

For those weekend types of tournaments, the schedule is so sporatic just do the best you can to eat just enough to keep you going. No big meals. Snacking all day is best. But again, no caffeine or simple sugars.

Championships are won on an empty stomach.

I was a vegetarian for a few months until recently. I call vegetarians who eat fish semi-tarians. They're definitely not vegetarians...

Tonight I will be trying Amp by mountain dew :) I have very steady nerves/hands even while hopped up on guarana and maltodextrin so it should work out well. I'm having a light dinner at 4:30 and playing at 7:30 so that should help as well. The energy drink is because my allergies close my nose up while I sleep... so my breathing suffers and I'm tired all day long.
