I know Kevin has written 3 books about Natural Cures, he is the founder of naturalcures.com, and I see him all over the television infomecials at 4am. I just found out that he was the main guy for the IPT, and I've read some tidbits here and there on this site that said something happend to him or the IPT in general. Could someone let me know, or just direct me to a website.
Thanks in advance.
Kevin Trudeau is a snake oil salesman, pure and simple. He has been in legal trouble with the FDA for years, fo saying there are "natural cures" for cancer, epilepsy, and various others serious illnesses. He preys on the elderly, using their fear of dying to sell his books. He has been in prison for credit card fraud, and is continuing with his old ways by "accidentally" overcharging people's credit cards when they join his website and order a membership.
He went in with Mike Sigel to start a pool tour. Many people who knew poolplayers in general looked at the whole plan and knew it wouldn't work, because pool had no chance to get on TV before KT, and had no chance after, either.
He set up a pyramid scheme whereby he took the entry fees from qualifiers in order to partially fund million dollar + payouts. Turns out, funnily enough, there aren't nearly enough skilled players willing to pay thousands to qualify. Who'd have thought? Oh yeah.. ME, and a whole bunch of people who thought just like me.
He kept making promises and statements that later analysis proved to be outright lies. "Checks were sent by FEDEX, they're late but they're on the way, they WERE mailed I swear!", etc..etc...etc...
The last rounds of qualifiers were never refunded their qualification money, and when Kevin takes that money and uses it to pay off the tournament money winners that threatened to sue him, those qualifiers effectively competed for a "qualification to nowhere". Kevin is not going to return their money, and when he feels he's paid enough of the tournament money winners prizes, he can quietly fold up shop and just say "It was a failed business plan, sorry." He will be able to get away with stealing the money from the last few rounds of qualifiers, with no consequences.
He has insisted that the IPT will start holding tournaments again when new sponsors are obtained, but there is no doubt in my mind he is saying this to avoid getting sued by the qualifiers who paid their money to qualify with no hopes of actually competing in a tournament.
He is a slimebag who is doing the bare minimum to avoid getting his pants sued off. And there are people out there still saying "Just give him a chance, everybody."
Look up his record. He is a criminal, and a con artist. SOME players are better off financially for having played in his tournaments, but the MAJORITY have lost money on the deal.
That's KT and the IPT in a nutshell.
