I know Kevin has written 3 books about Natural Cures, he is the founder of naturalcures.com, and I see him all over the television infomecials at 4am. I just found out that he was the main guy for the IPT, and I've read some tidbits here and there on this site that said something happend to him or the IPT in general. Could someone let me know, or just direct me to a website.

Thanks in advance.

There is plenty to read right here on AZB.

Did you have running water in your cave?
I know some players who'd like to take him deep in the woods...and look for some natural cures.:D

Kevin Trudeau is a snake oil salesman, pure and simple. He has been in legal trouble with the FDA for years, fo saying there are "natural cures" for cancer, epilepsy, and various others serious illnesses. He preys on the elderly, using their fear of dying to sell his books. He has been in prison for credit card fraud, and is continuing with his old ways by "accidentally" overcharging people's credit cards when they join his website and order a membership.

He went in with Mike Sigel to start a pool tour. Many people who knew poolplayers in general looked at the whole plan and knew it wouldn't work, because pool had no chance to get on TV before KT, and had no chance after, either.

He set up a pyramid scheme whereby he took the entry fees from qualifiers in order to partially fund million dollar + payouts. Turns out, funnily enough, there aren't nearly enough skilled players willing to pay thousands to qualify. Who'd have thought? Oh yeah.. ME, and a whole bunch of people who thought just like me.

He kept making promises and statements that later analysis proved to be outright lies. "Checks were sent by FEDEX, they're late but they're on the way, they WERE mailed I swear!", etc..etc...etc...

The last rounds of qualifiers were never refunded their qualification money, and when Kevin takes that money and uses it to pay off the tournament money winners that threatened to sue him, those qualifiers effectively competed for a "qualification to nowhere". Kevin is not going to return their money, and when he feels he's paid enough of the tournament money winners prizes, he can quietly fold up shop and just say "It was a failed business plan, sorry." He will be able to get away with stealing the money from the last few rounds of qualifiers, with no consequences.

He has insisted that the IPT will start holding tournaments again when new sponsors are obtained, but there is no doubt in my mind he is saying this to avoid getting sued by the qualifiers who paid their money to qualify with no hopes of actually competing in a tournament.

He is a slimebag who is doing the bare minimum to avoid getting his pants sued off. And there are people out there still saying "Just give him a chance, everybody."

Look up his record. He is a criminal, and a con artist. SOME players are better off financially for having played in his tournaments, but the MAJORITY have lost money on the deal.

That's KT and the IPT in a nutshell.

I've read them both and they are very very convincing.:o

Could I interest you in playing in a Qualifier for the 2008 IPT season? It is only $2,000 and if you win, you are guaranteed a minimum of $100,000 for the year.

That's very convincing too, isn't it?

Are you serious?!?! He really says that? Does he atually follow through on what he says?

That is quite a bit of money for one year lol.

Lol, this comes from wikipedia, thanks for the link!

"Trudeau founded the International Pool Tour (IPT), with some of the largest purses and prizes given out in billiards.[19] This has attracted the interest of some of the top pool players in the world. It also sets itself apart from the many 9-Ball tournaments as all IPT events are 8-Ball games with very strict rules.

In October 2006, the IPT was criticized by some of the winners for failing to disburse in a timely manner about $3 million in prize funds to tournament competitors. Thorsten Hohmann, a $350,000 IPT winner from a July 2006 event said, "I'm the one who can leave with a smile, but it's just not right what [Trudeau] has done - all the lies."[20] The IPT originally announced that they were only going to pay out one-third of the winnings at that time, but in November they announced that they will pay out the $3 million in monthly installments instead,[20] which have been two payments of about $38,000 each as of December 20th.[21] Due to this and other factors, all IPT events have been postponed by a few months, though no specific dates have been set yet."[22]

And thats from a reliable source!!!!!!

When the going gets tough, the tough get going somewhere else. He still put on the best pool comp the pro's had seen and made a lot of old timers happy.
And he's still paying out when he can. He's a smart guy ; has a lot of knockers but then no-one has done what he did before. USA's Barry Hearn?

Perhaps as no American hero emerged, it didn't catch on. Perhaps it didn't have a grassroots following and was just like building a pyramid starting at the top. I don't think KT would hang around considering all the abuse he got for his efforts anyway. So then came the hibernation phase...

Barry Hearn is not from the USA.

Kevin Trudeau is not smart. I do not consider myself a knocker, just somebody that sees right through him and his BS. If I am a knocker, I have the distinction of being Kevin Trudeau's least favorite knocker. :p

Abuse? Give me a break. The guy said that he had a billion dollars. From the very beginning he was challenged about whether that was fact or fiction. His bluff was called early on by the WPA when they offered sanctioning his events at a cost of 10% of the purse (which is customary for all sanctioned events). KT folded and said "nobody owns pool." I read that as "I can't afford that, so I'll go it alone."

He then laughed at the WPA.

I offered to start an organization that was designed to protect the players interests in case this thing folded. I was labeled as "negative" and people were told to avoid me. lol.

As time went on, Kevin Trudeau openly laughed in my face because on the surface, the IPT looked like a big party and a big success. In the end, my initial instincts were correct. KT ran out of money and the players were left with money owed to them and Kevin was nowhere to be found. It happened exactly like myself and others said it would happen. Imagine that. Every so often I listen to that last players meeting in Reno just to get a chuckle out of the part where Deno says, "There will be a differece in the payouts for this tournament." Boy was that an understatement!
:p

In the end, Kevin abandoned the IPT just like he had abandoned every other failed business venture that he has been involved in. He continues to pay the players in an attempt to keep his ass out of jail, so please don't try to sell that off as honesty to those of us that know better.

regardless, he has still paid out way more prize money than anyone else ever has and put on by far and away the most glamourous events ever seen. it was a glimpse of the dream. i still hold out hope maybe next year it'll ressurect - after all he's an ambitious man and may still want to give it all another go. also, as an extra incentive, he'll probably love to stick two fingers up at the IPT's knockers if he makes something of it, and he'll be able to.

maybe.

the IPT is gone for good and I don't believe any sponsors would be that interested to put their money on a failed business that was built by a con artist, who has some outstanding debts to pay and scammed some people. as for KT, he's lucky to stay out of jail for awhile if nobody goes after him for fraud. it seems he was involved in a pyramiding scam which involves natural powers. :D :D :D
