What is Borana Andoni's speed?

I guess, you didn't read the Billiard Digest when they named Mark Griffin "Man of the Year" for all the pool he has promoted, all year long, every year ---

It was a very small article, probably cause Mark G. didn't look as great in a cleavage baring tank top:rolleyes:

I wish KOD and everyone best luck pursuing their dreams and career but let's be realistic!

S.

You are right, Mark Griffin has done a lot for pool and we should all be grateful. It would be great for everyone to know who he is and what he has been doing for pool so that is why he was named "Man of the Year" in Billiard Digest. You are also right that he wouldn't look great in cleavage bearing tank top but lets be "realistic" you wouldn't either.

I have spoken to all the KOD girls before and they all have careers to support themselves. From speaking to them the only impression I got was that they love to play pool and they do it as something to take a break from their work just like the most of us. I doubt they are planning to do this for a living because I am sure they are aware how extremely difficult it is. They did win the nationals last year but they did not ask for all the press. They did not ask to be on covers or to have any sponsors, they asked KOD. These ladies are young and beautiful so I doubt they mind being a little bit famous while doing what they love.

Every time one of these threads pop up and people start complaining about how they are getting too much attention, the thread ends up getting over a thousand hits. These people talk about how KOD is getting over promoted when they themselves are helping promote them by complaining. I believe very much in any publicity is good publicity. These threads will just cause more discussion between people and they will go out to checkout these girls for themselves to see what all the talk is about. If this can bring one new face to the pool world then they did something positive for our sport.

Dude! What is your problem? Did I say anything negative about KOD or any women promoting sex? No, I wished them good luck pursuing their dream - and that was a sincere statement. I know all about pros not making enough money to support themselves on just tournament earnings. I would never go to that route because I can't run 4 racks of 10 ball and mostly due to the fact that I am used to making more money with security of steady income! 15 years of US Navy:thumbup:

I said be realistic to the poster who said Borana has done more to promote pool more than anyone last year!

Besides, I look great in a cleavage baring tank top - although only few people have seen me in a tank top - let alone play pool in it.

Go for it dudette! And we'll all have a Sunny Day! :grin-square:

I think the OP was asking opinions on Borana's speed. I've never seen her shoot, so i can't say. I have an idea, but I can't say.
I'm seeing a lot of posts that aren't answering the "real" question. Instead, they're saying how good she is for the sport, and basically, don't hate.
Similar to Sherraine or lorraine from Orlando. From what I've gathered, i've never heard anything bad about these 2 people, so, yes...they're probably good for the sport.

But, how do they play????????????????????????????????????

Personally I think that more attention NEEDS to be paid to the league players and their accomplishments.

I am pissed off EVERY YEAR when I see the hotdog eating contest on ESPN but I NEVER EVER EVER EVER see the national and international league finals in pool.

No one who has been on a high level league team will disagree that it's intense competition. I personally think that winning the open event at the BCA in Vegas is the hardest one to win because you have to not only get through hundreds of teams, you have to get by some real top talent as well. In the masters division you know you are up against top teams from the start but there are way fewer matches.

As to the orginal question of how good does Borana play and whether she should be in a B tournament or not.....if she is an ASPIRING pro then that means that she is NOT a pro and therefore she should be playing in all tournaments which she is allowed to in order to gain seasoning.

The comment that she has done more for pool than anyone else is out line but the sentiment is clear. I personally think it's great that she and her teammates are getting attention. If that inspires more people to play and more content producers to get into pool then that's awesome. I don't think that anyone can deny that every little bit helps.

Anyone want to bet that I will disappointed again this year when the league finals aren't broadcast anywhere???

I agree that hot dog contests have no business being on ESPN! LOL. Neither does the Scrabble Championships or the Spelling Bee! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! WTF?

She ran a 4-pack in 10-ball? That's strong. I'm with Disco, I'll also take the 7.

i know Borana is playing for small stakes every now and then, so maybe she would step up and play you for $.

What do you think would be a fair match? I would definitely pay TAR to watch this :)

there's recorded streams of borana playing. a quick search on ustream turned up:

Borana vs. Kim Pierce

Borana vs. Lisa Marr

make your own judgement.

(i think these are from last year and being played on 8 footers.)

borana's probably gotten better as she's always working on her game/playing in tournaments/etc. - jim murnak posted before saying she ran 4 consecutive racks of 10-ball. what speed is that?

I know she has been wanting to play you for money for a long time and you are asking her for the 7.

yep. i need the 7. she runs 4 consective racks of 10 ball. i cant do that. i'm only a C player tooand she's a B. she plays too strong for me even.

I need a lot too... and tried. She wont give up enough. :(

I wanna see her play Sarah Rousey on TAR! Would be a great match. 4 games on the wire to 13 sounds fair.

But, I saw her run four ten ball racks in a row to win a match at Master Billiards one night.

4pack in 10ball.... waaaaay too strong for me. I asked her to play some, but maybe its a good thing she said no. This D+ would get robbed!
