What is Borana Andoni's speed?

Sunny...

My question is how do we get to see this tank top of which you speak?

THATS the important question from this thread.... :-)

I just don't know where I crossed a line?? a 4-pack of ten ball is more than I will ever do. So it is, in fact, way too strong for me. Im not hating, Im telling it how it is. I wouldn't mind playing her, but shes way stronger than me.

So again, I don't think I said anything hurtful, mean or bad about her. Maybe you just took it wrong.

Sorry if I took your post the wrong way but what you wrote in that post and on other posts in this thread just seems very condescending.

Again this thread is about her speed. You saying that her running a 4 pack in 10 ball is too strong and that you need a spot tells us nothing about her speed. All it says it what speed you play at. If anyone cares your speed than someone will start a thread "What is Cleary's speed?"

It's funny that my previous post consisted a whole paragraph and then a single sentence and the only response I get is about the single sentence. I guess people would rather ignore everything I said except what they can bash on me about. If people feel so strongly about my impression of Clearly and actually respond to it than how do they feel about the other part of my post? I guess I must be right if they can't bash on me about it.

There's the entire post Scott.

After he said this I mentioned Mark, the TAR crew, Shannon Daulton, Jay Helfert and Greg Sullivan as some of the people that do the most for pool and Wedge responded with this gem...

So, according to Wedge and all his wisdom, hosting tournaments, streaming matches, running league, designing tables, and everything else that group of guys does means nothing since they haven't been on the cover of a magazine.

I want to be on the cover of The Rolling Stone!

I said Promote the Sport of Pool. Tar, Shannon, Jay, Mark and Greg do a lot as you said for pool. They are well known to professional players and AZ Members. Without folks like them the tournaments might dry up. They make a fantastic contribtion but I was speaking about promotion. However, there is a far larger body of players other than professionals and AZ members. These are the regular league players (APA, BCA and the likes) that most likely do not know who these gentleman are. They do however know who Borana and the KOD are...at least a lot of them do. Hence my statements concerning their promotion of the sport. Sorry if you mistook my post but I think contribution and promtion are quite different.

Well, you're just gonna have to keep your eyes open, like I said it is a rare occation and I certainly don't have camera crews follow me around to snap those shots;)

In an attempt to swerve the discussion back to an instigatory tack, Imma gonna post a real sage poster.

Should my effort fail...

OMGWTF, I hear Greyhound has a special on CCCC (cross country critter crawling). ;)

These two ladies may be pretty evenly matched. However... Melinda is a cold blooded, ruthless, experienced killer. After his dispatch, CUBC took a job as a door to door Fuller salesman in Bangladesh. And... Last word has it that Mary Avina moved to Siberia with a D player after OMG simply glared at her from two tables over in a local Rotary tournament.

I doubt Borana wants any of Melinda. Don't let her love for little stuffed animals fool ya.

Every post you make makes my head hurt more and more. Do you know who Mark Griffin is? Do you know what he does? HE OWNS AND OPERATES THE BCA POOL LEAGUE!!! How could players in a league do more to promote the sport than the person that IS the league? And by the way, I GUARANTEE more people that don't play pool know about TAR than know about KOD. Everytime I wear my TAR shirt to play cards or to go to the bars and hang out at least two people ask me what TAR is and I'm happy to give them all the details. I would assume TAR has sold 1,000+ shirts and every person that owns one has been asked the same thing as much as I have. I don't see people carrying around copys of Inside Pool with Borana on the cover being asked who she is. And by the way, how many non-pool player do you think by Inside Pool? I would guess, ZERO. So therefore, being on the cover of a pool magazine doesn't do anything to promote the sport to the "outside" world.

And if you did have a camera crew capture that moment, it would no doubt end up in Inside Pool magazine. THEN would this argument cycle around again?

NO, no worries, there. I am not an aspiring pro.

Before someone (hmmm, wonder who) jumps in and calls me a hater 2 days in a role ... I think it's an opprotunity of a life time for KOD to get the attention they are getting now and if I was in their shoes, I would do everything I can to capitolize on it too.

This is what you call a good role on them, so to speak. You just take it - just like the pool game :) I never seen someone turn down a ball in hand on a 9 or 8. I see nothing wrong with them going with the flow :)

I think the OP was asking opinions on Borana's speed. I've never seen her shoot, so i can't say. I have an idea, but I can't say.
I'm seeing a lot of posts that aren't answering the "real" question. Instead, they're saying how good she is for the sport, and basically, don't hate.
Similar to Sherraine or lorraine from Orlando. From what I've gathered, i've never heard anything bad about these 2 people, so, yes...they're probably good for the sport.

But, how do they play????????????????????????????????????

OK, to answer the original question, with facts, without being accused of not-talking-glowingly about a player...

Borana is a mid level amateur. She is in the top half of talent on a regional womens amateur tour, but not in the top 3, more like in the 75th percentile of local amateurs. Same for a local mixed amateur handicapped tour; she would be in the top half of the field, skill wise, but not considered one of the top amateurs, men or women.

In plain inglese...she plays o.k.

And I'll do the same for OMG..... but she'll also play on her own dime ;)

I just wanted memorialize this in event Ross gets amnesia. :grin-square:

Interesting... I hope the ladies would like to get it on. They both have a lot of fans and much respect.

Not a problem.... I'm happy to. :)

As much as I'd love to see it as well, I don't think Borana will take OMG up on the offer. I bet she's a bit too scared....

Hey, we got some action!

If both Borana and OMGWTF are gonna be in Vegas, that would be a perfect spot; we have backers, we have a location, we have popcorn...

Eric >hopes one of them doesn't backout

The women on the Kiss of Death team have done nothing to earn the scorn of anyone. They play well together and won a national team championship. They're not out there over selling themselves. The fact that they aren't yet Top 16 is in no way a slam. How many of us are top 16?

Each of these women is promoting pool, some doing it big time. They are giving to pool, not taking from it. If someone wanted their autograph, and they had said no, there would be some dipsh*t slamming them for that. They just can't win.

I wish Borana, and each of the rest of the team the very best, and if they aspire to become pros I hope they make it. They can only do so by hard work & talent, and that's the way they want it.

^^^ Exactly!!

And I think suprnva asked why they are getting recognition? Because they are promoting themselves and the sport. They're getting it because they're working for it. It's not like the rest of the world thought "Hey, we should take a group of [professional] unknowns and make a web-show about them." Those girls are working toward their dreams and part of making it in this day and age is promoting yourself; they're ahead of the curve, in my opinion.

Keep it up KOD!

yawn...

I'm down to play on either May 15th or 16th.

I would prefer to play at Pool Sharks on their Diamond in The Pit.

We can set up the game here in the forum. I will bet up to $2,000 of my own money. If Borana's contingent wants to bet more, that's fine, I just need to know how much. I don't doubt that there are many willing to back her.

I don't know what Borana's speed is but this would be an interesting way to answer the question for all of us who want to know. For the record, I believe I'm a C+/B- in LOS ANGELES, maybe a solid B if I remembered to eat lunch and a Flintstones vitamin. I don't know how that translates into NEW YORK ratings but I guess we can find out.

Will this match happen? Probably not.

Now go prove me wrong.

OMG "I Couldn't Win Beauty Pageants So I Took Up Pool Instead" WTF
