and how does it work

A stun shot is simply a stop shot that is not straight in. The result of the shot sends the cueball down the perpendicular 90 degree line. The more angle on the shot the further down the line the cueball travels. The speed of the shot also can lengthen that travel...

Bingo, we have a winner....A stun shot is simply when the cue ball has neither backspin nor forward roll on it when it contacts the object ball, i.e. it has no vertical roll. It is essentially skidding at the point of impact.
Hitting center ball on the CB will not necessarily produce a stun shot if the cue ball stops skidding and is rolling when it contacts the OB. So if the OB is far away you probably need to hit the CB a little below center so the draw is scrubbed off and the CB is sliding (has not yet begun forward roll) when it contacts the object ball.
Stun shot
Its when you try to speak but you stutter.

stun is center ball no english, the cue ball deflects from the hit since balls are round if the cue hits left side of object ball it goes left and vice versa..
you can also hit object ball dead center and if you hit cue ball a lil off center it will stun to the off side hit
It's a stun shot with english, I assume. The standard bread-and-butter shot of 9-ball.
Freddie
is a stun shot dead centerball that skids does not roll
when it starts rolling it is no longer skidding and the stun is not in effect any longer
