What is the Best chalk?

The less expensive tip that is comparable to Kamui black is...

To me, it seems the Kamui M is slightly firmer than the Onyx, and the Onyx is firmer than the SS. The Onyx tip is also bit shorter which may contribute to that feeling. I use a pretty stiff hitting cue, and the Onyx is a great feeling combination with it.

The emerald green. That is the tip that I'm currently using. I had used a kamui black S and then switched to the emerald green. I go by cost, so I couldn't tell you how much it is, but for me the Kamui is about 18 times as much money and performs the exact same.

The emerald green won't mushroom and I use to both break and shoot with without issue.

As far as chalk????

The blue diamond is definitely superior to Master's...

I haven't played with any Kamui chalk yet, I just can't justify spending that much for chalk...

There's some cheap stuff that really sucks. Don't know what it's called but it really sucks. I recently bought a how bunch of pre-flag master for next to nothing. It seams to work real nice.

I tried Kamui and was shocked at how much I liked it and how different it was from Masters or Blue Diamond, and that it played great. I was expecting just chalk (so to speak), but this was really different. I played all weekend and it doesn't look like I even used the chalk. Now, at $25 per cube, I do not think I will get any more, but I really did like it. I have no idea how they made it, and wish they would drop the price by $24 to make it reasonable.

I too was a big naysayer about the Kamui chalk.. That was until I tried it and it's really all that & a bag of chips.

Is it worth $25? You be the judge but it is definitely superior to anything else I've tried, hands down. It grabs the CB better, allows me to go further outside and not miscue.

Last night I played 8 games of 8 ball without chalking after my initial application. I used english, draw, follow etc. without worrying and did not miscue until game 9. That's pretty impressive to me.

I was a non-believer too. It really is different, but in a good way. I am going to try and see how many shots I can take tonight before I need to re-apply. My habit is to shoot, chalk, and so forth so it might be a challenge to change a lifelong habit in one night.

So I played from 7:00 until 10:00 and chalked once per rack and never miscued. I played my daughter for part of the time and she used IPT chalk. I asked her if she could tell the difference when chalking and said IPT was dry and gritty while Kamui was soft. Anyone know how they make this stuff? Why is it so different?

One that you never miscue with, unless your doing something wrong, which is nice to know....by a miscue.

The Sniper and Emerald Green Tiger tips glaze over too easily........

I wonder if you guys have ever tried this one

Raymond Ceulemans World Legend chalk. Compares to Blue Diamond, but is a bit better. Made by Tweeten as well.

Miscue's???

What is the Best chalk?

Or is there not best chalk? Just color on the table, and use same color on chalk?

Or is it what tip you are using?

What chalk would you propose?

In pool, is there "Anything" more disquieting than miscue's while at the table? Those moments can make your mind "fearfully disposed to avoiding drawing the ball!"
I gave a group lesson last night on a beautiful "Black, 9', Olhausen table. The balls were the Olhausen version of Super Aramith Pro's. The chalk was Silver Cup and I use a hard Molovia tip, so I miscued all night long. I didn't miss any of the shots I miscued on, but the cue-ball position on those shots was horrific! When your doing instruction, that scenario doesn't play well for me!
I've decided, like my friend, "The Renfro," to try the Kamui chalk. And I might add, I'll B*tch-up a storm, "WHEN," I misplace that $28. cube!!!!
I know one thing though, I can't fathom buying a gross of chalk at any price over a $1. a cube, in this lifetime!!!!!!!!!!!

Kamui chalk is great. I have the opposite problem now: I forget to chalk so I actually think I miscue more often. I'll go 5/6 racks without chalking and then CLANK a miscue because I'm not even thinking about chalk any more. The chalk is the best, if I could just remember to chalk every 2 or 3 racks....
