My guess is it wouldn't even envolve folks from the "pool world". Two sultans over in Dubai or something like that....settling a dispute for $MILLIONS$ on a game of 3 cushion. Those crazy multi-billionaires like to bet it up on everything :p

"My palace and 11 wives vs. yours, 18 holes!" lol

I know of 128 dimes in the course of 2 days.I have seen 48 dimes in 1 set.I also know the person that lost 128 also has lost several 30-90 dime sessions.

While I was stationed at Ft.Benning Ga from 1990-1992..I would go to the Green Room in Atlanta quite a bit..I watched a big named player play a local guy. The local guy walked in with 75k in a briefcase..14hrs later the guy walked out with an empty briefcase.. I seen him play a total of 3 guys ranging from 30k up to the 75k in a matter of 2 weeks.... And losing this money didnt bother him at all. He just stated he will go back and get more money. This guy was halfway good. At that time, he would have had to give me a ball and I think it would have been even. I had only been playing for about 1yr when I witnessed this

the record for the usa has to be at The Rack in Detroit in the 70s.

The Keither !

Keith told me the biggest score he was ever in on was when Harry Platis staked him against this millionare for 25k a game giving the guy the 6 out & i think the breaks but not sure if it was winner break but they beat the guy out of $350,000 dollars.

Never played any big money anything. First of all I don't have the money and I'm not good enough for a backer. There was one night when I did pretty well for myself though.

It was about 3 or 4 years ago. I was about 24-25. I was maybe an APA 5 or 6, can't remember. Anyways my friends knew I loved pool and would play anyone for $5. Apparently there was a kid I went to high school with who had a "bunch" of money and loved to gamble on anything. I told my friend if he saw this kid to call me and I'll see if he wants to play some.

One night I get a call saying, "Hey Brock Jimmy's here and he said he'll play you" So I go down to the bar where there are two crappy bar boxes with red felt. Whatever. I see Jimmy and I ask him if he wants to play. He says sure. As I'm racking he asks if I want to gamble. I say, "sure how much?" He says, "$100" I say, "Why not." By the way I'm 24 and only have $100 in my pocket. Oh well.

We play 8-ball. Right away I can see, this kid sucks! I mean I was only a 5 or 6 but there was no way this kid could win. I take the first three games. 3 crisp $100 bills in my pocket. He payed after every game. Awesome. Then he says let's play for $500. I go ask my buddy if he had any money he had $150 on him. So i say okay. I win. He says do it again. i win. I have $1300 in my pocket and a little bit of a chubby. Hahaha

He says let's go $300 a game. I say fine. I then dog a few which keeps him interested and about an hour later they call last call. I have no idea how much I'm up but it was a lot. I ask him if he wants to play for a thousand and he says no I only have $300 left. But he'll play me for that. We play and I win. I shake his hand and take off. We get home and my buddy says how much did you win. I take the $ out of my pocket and count 26 $100 bills.

For a 24 year old kid who had never played for more than $10 it was pretty cool.

When Archie The Greek made his monster score in Vegas in the early 90's, it all started with a pool game. He ran into Bobby Baldwin the President of the Mirage Hotel in a local watering hole that had a bar table in it. The conversation got around to shooting pool and pretty soon these two were hooked up in a little $1,000 a game 9-Ball action. That soon escalated to ten thousand a game the first night and twenty thousand a game the second night. In the end Archie made off with a cool million playing bar table 9-Ball.

Baldwin then invited Archie to the Mirage for some heads up poker action. Another million later and Archie was on his way to the biggest run Vegas had ever seen. When he finally cooled down he was sitting on well in excess of thirty mil. And it all started with a pool game.

Archie The Greek

What Jay forgot to mention that Archie went through 33million in Pool and Dice He is playing $5.00 Poker now days. A sorry situation but I was at DCC 8years ago and Archie called a friend of his and told him he was down to 12million and didn't know what to do.

The poor guy...down to his last TWELVE MILLION! Sheesh! He'll probably have to go on welfare!:rolleyes:

If I won 30 million I would literally crap myself and pay someone to clean it up! Good lord allmighty.... 30 mill WTF

Biggest score

I won over $40,000 in one night playing nine ball, and over $15,000 on several occassions. Also lost some big numbers too. I busted Archie the Greek in Baton Rouge and offered to play him a million dollar set of one pocket and he said he would but never backed it up. At 64 years old, I'll still play him a million dollar set, even though I haven't hit a ball in over 6 months. :p :D :p

Archie also lost over 700K to Toby and Henry at the Cue Club in Vegas. It is true that he lost back most of the money he won on his big score, but since that time 15 years ago, he's had over a million dollar bankroll many times. He is one of the greatest all time gamblers ever!

He came in my poolroom at Hollywood Park five years ago and we matched up a friendly $500 One Pocket game. I was giving him 9-5. I won $5,500 over the next two days with the game progressing to 7-4. He disappeared for a week and came back and we matched up again, me giving him 5-3 and the break. This time the bet was a $1,000 a game. I won the first game and he then won seven in a row. My manager took me in the back office and told me I was totally going off. Archie had gotten my nose open and was now robbing me. I was so blind that I was ready to keep playing. My manager saved me that night. Archie is one sharp cookie.

the most I played for isn't much... race to 5 for $600 I went last pocket he went straight on a bar box, he was like an apa 6... edged him out hill hill.
