I have started selling alot more juma it is a softer material. I personally like ivory there is nothing that will give you a more solid hit.

I have 12 different ferrule material but I use LBM on most ferrule replacements and new shafts. Juma is OK if someone wants a softer hit but I don't like Ivory, for ferrules what so ever as it is to fragile although I've got dozens of them here in the shop I can install if I can't talk someone out of one. I don't think they add a thing to the game except being very pretty and easy to keep clean but they are both fragile and expensive. They do have their own hit and I compare them to Scotch whiskey. No one likes it when they first drink it. It is an acquired taste and as such once you acquire this taste you like no other. I could never see why someone would force themselves to like something so expensive and fragile myself.

Personally, I like the old Aegis.
It's a tad on the heavy side compared to the other mtrls. (except for ivory which is heavier), but it has a phenomenal hit to it. That and it talks to you. Hit the ball well and it will speak to you; "click".
Unfortunately, the Aegis offered today isn't the same as what I've had in the past. Today's is softer and doesn't have the same hit. Density.
Too bad, it was great stuff.

thanks we currently have 5 differnt we offer and would like to have more thanks jimm

The best thing about ivory is that there is so much high, repeat profit in installing them. I could make about 300.00 profit an hour installing them and drink a cup of coffee doing it.

LOL that's awesome!!!! It's entirely true but the way you say it makes me giggle. I love brutal & truthful honesty.

I use IVOR-X Ferrules they Cut, polish and clean like ivory (the chalk doesn't stick) Plays and hits like ivory, 5/16" - 18 thread inside 3/16" cap and Made in the USA! All my customers love them.

I like narwhal. I've never heard of it till Marshall from piercyexclusive told me about it the hit is so different but good for me. I also like his real ivory composites he makes. What type of ivory is everyone Talking about?

I like the tight weave LBM white linen ferrules for best all around ferrule.
For a softer hit I like the Juma. For looks Ivory is still king.

Ferrules

I use Ivorine 4 as my standard ferrule, although it is difficult to machine. My second choice is Mason's Micarta, machines great.
