What is your favorite match to watch over and over?

In no particular order
Ronnie running a 5minute 147
Efren vs shannon at Galveston
Nick varner vs shannon the wedge game with billy/grady

One that stands out for me is Efren Reyes vs Mika Immonen in the World Pool Masters 2013.

Some of the shots from both men are just magic. Really helped open my eyes to the creativity that's possible in this game with an open mind. It was the first match I showed a friend of mine who's never played pool and he was immediately interested and asking questions.

Here's another I've watched a lot. It's Earl Strickland's coming out party. 1983 Caesars Tahoe Classic 9-ball finals.

https://youtu.be/8Sd8iFD2aXI

Earl still talks about this match today, because at the 39 minute mark he executes the first televised jump shot. The commentators are of the typical ESPN ilk, but it's interesting listening to how their opinions of Earl evolve over a 1 hour match. In the beginning they refer to Strickland as "Little Earl" (an early nickname) and give the match to Miz, but by the end they, and the entire audience, are on their feet enthralled at Earl's power.

oh and Grady was absolutely fantastic calling this match!
From how much Mitch Lawrence sucked on ESPN to Corey having no chance! Greatness!
That was great. Grady says something like "Mitch Lawerence needs to get out of there! How is he employed! We need some kind of mercy killing."

Agree with those about TAR 1. Disc 4 I believe is where Shane defines perfect pool.

To continue with the TAR theme, Danny Harriman, and John Schmidt's second straight pool match was spectacular. I also love just about any match SVB played in the TAR studio. He seemed so comfortable there and played some brilliant pool. Fast and fluent, it is a joy to watch.

Also worth adding just about any match Oliver Ortmann played during the 2009 World 14.1 Tournament. He had something like 4 consecutive 100 ball runs. 100 and out, 100 and out, 150 and out and a 125 if I remember correctly.

The following year it's fun to watch in a pair, Mike Sigels 100 and out vs Mika Immonen, followed by Mika's 150 and out vs Mike Sigel later in the tournament.

Finally, to add a bit of snooker in here, Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Stephen Hendry 2008 World Championship semi-finals is one my all time favorites.

Also, any of his matches from the 2008 World Championship were sublime.

Here are YouTube links to some of the matches mentioned.

Earl Strickland v Busty at 2002 World Championship 9-Ball
https://youtu.be/w1KGY3Xt6pw
Commentators: Jerry Forsyth and Sid Waddel
Also one of my favorite repeat watches. Earl’s behind the entire race to 17, everyone seems to think it’s inevitable Busty has it, and then at 2:30:00 Earl goes into Pearl-mode.

Efren v Busty 8-ball strategic rack
https://youtu.be/hsCLcuLXlEM
Commentators: Billy Incardona and Toni Anigoni
Best instructional 8-ball rack ever. Two pros showing how to play a rack requiring 10+ innings.

Ronnie O’Sullivan fastest 147 in history (5 min 20 sec)

Commentary by Dennis Taylor (I think)

Efren Reyes v Shannon Daulton 1P at Galveston World Classic

Just watched this tonight. Had me smiling the whole time. I'm used to seeing 40-50 year old Earl. Seeing him as a young kid no one knows was great. No nerves and excellent shot making and position play. The commentators didn't seem overly knowledgeable but I suppose play was probably different at the time. Earl's style had never been heard of before that, is my guess. Thanks for the suggestion!

Just finished watching...thanks for posting the link.

Shaw had ball in hand on a 2-9 combination when Mika quit.

Certainly not a sure thing 2-9 sporty angle and in the side to boot. Every ball had a pocket granted, if you watched the match Mika was on tilt much earlier.

I stand by what I said.

Accu-Stats Make it Happen 1 pocket 2015
Efren vs. Danny Smith ...the first match

1988 World One Pocket Challenge Match
between Ronnie Allen and Danny DiLiberto

You have to buy them both to see them.

It wasn't in the side, it was in the corner, with the 9 right by the 2.

I have no idea what "I stand by what I said" even means, since all I was doing was telling you that Shaw didn't have to run all the balls.

My favorite is the infamous "x-Rated" match between Keith and Bushwacker(Gary Nolan).

Grady saying " look at that little ****** sashaying around the table."

Grady could come up with some doozies.

Keith McCready v. Ismael Paez, double-hill for the win, Buddy Hall and Kim Davenport commentating --> HERE

This is when pool players weren't afraid to show emotion, unlike today's emotionless tournament robots who play mum pool.

Sang Lee vs Semih Sayginer (finals)
1999 Carl S Memorial World Cup
Robert Byrne and Torborn Blomdalh provide excellent commentary. If you watch only one 3 Cushin match, this is the one.
