I believe that no matter how you start off in pool, there comes a time when you question where you stand, and where you want to go. Whether being the best in your league, the best in your pool hall or the best in your town or more... What is your goal in pool?

To be able to break and run 9 games in a row and beat any living human in a race to 9 nine ball.:cool::cool::cool:

My goal is to become the best in the city because my city is filled with a whole lot of barbox players who think that the league standings means something big. Everyone who is decent in the city talks about how they did in vegas... but literally only like 1 player actually played in the U.S Open a few times and he is the only one I really truly respect. Just really bothers me because they think barbox league is everything... go play in some real tournaments please? thanks.

I am not claiming that bar box is not good or anything like that it just gets under my skin that alot of players around here think that league matters so much and gets you mad respect.

what is your goal?

Having lived in London Ontario and Brampton Ontario I do not recall ever hearing about the Canadian Open? Is there one? Running out on a big table Gold Crown, is easier than a bar box. But, I grew up on a Gold Crown I. Bar boxes are like play toys.

well we have the canadian 9 ball tour, joss tour, 404... and a few others but I mean nothing as big as the U.S Open that I know of. so no I don't think so and I myself hate bar boxes but yet again the 9 footers around here are not very quality tables... I don't even know what it is like playing on a nicely maintained quality table. I feel so repressed lol. yet again I am just another banger myself so I can't really complain too much.

To be the best. Everything I do I do it to be the best at it. I don't half arse anything! I want to be able to give any pool player a run for their money at the very least. To be able to hold my own against the best in the world.

Well you have a great CUE

I see you have one of my brother's ques. I have 4 of them myself. When I was in Brampton, I used to play at the Wooden Rack in Missaugua? spelling is probably wrong but they had some nice equipment there before, poker took over.

I have four Patrick's and play with 3 of them and use a Huebler to break with. All of each measure between 60 an 61 inches. Due to me being 6 foot 6 inches tall and having long arms.:p

For me, to get to at least the level I was at when I was diehard fanatic about my game.
Since I shattered my wrist on my shooting arm I switched over to the other side, and it still hasn't progressed as quickly as I would have liked, but lately, it seems like it's on the right track.
Now that I have someone just as competitive and driven as I am I think it's been helping my game get back on track dramatically.
Just more good practice practice practice and maybe I can start doing better than I did before.
If not....there's always yard darts!

thanks and that's awesome I love it... as soon as I shot with it I was hooked. it's too the point where I can't see myself playing with any other cue. I have only been playing for 3 years now had this cue for 2 of them. your brother does some very fine work I am completely and 100% satisfied with the cue. Give him my highest regards.

To become an A player. Most of all I want to contribute to this game that has given me so much by doing what I can to give back. I hope to one day see it grow into something really great and poolplayers actually make a real living and big sponsors get behind it, if that happens in my lifetime that would be wonderful to see and be a part of it.

become Norwegian 9-ball Champion and be able to represent Norway in the European Championships.

Long way to go, better head for the practice table

I think that´s a typical european goal, i think.
And i completely understand that - i had the same goals some years ago. :grin-square:
For sure in another country, but i wish you all the best to reach it

To have a good time, learn something about the game every chance I get and try to improve my game everytime I'm at the table. Winning another trip to Vegas wouldn't hurt my feeling either.;)

It would be nice to become a solid A player. Maybe at best be able to run 2-3 racks on a consistent basis.

Short term: Be able to adapt to different conditions quickly, place in the money at the upcoming VA state 14.1 championships, and consistently run multiple racks.

Long term: Be the best in the world at every game.

Someday, God willing, I'd like to be as good as Butch. That is all.

Interesting answers to a question that I suppose I no longer labor with since I'm getting a little older now.

I say interesting "answers" to the question, because when I was younger the answer wouldn't be things like "be able to run X amount of racks of nine ball."

When I was younger it would be to run 100 balls in straight pool.

So... now I have a new goal. Let all the youngsters know that they are missing out on the depth and beauty of pool by playing such a shallow game as 9 ball.

Well, ya asked ...... :)

My goal is to get better and continue to improve my game. I'm still fairly young, so I think I have a ways to go. I'm in a league for people under 21, so I'm hoping I can win that. Honestly I think I stand a decent chance at doing it.

I guess my minor goal right now is to not loose any money games. . . . . Haven't lost any yet, but won about 30 bucks in $5 bets. I'm about to set up a game with some cocky black kids in the dorm across the street. From the sounds of it it should be easy money.

I had one kid one time watch me play. He tells all of his buddies, "Don't play this kid for money, he is really good." He called the table and I asked him if he wanted to play for a dollar, half joking. He said sure. Beat him with 4 balls on the able lol.
