On a (slightly) more serious note......I think I would want a picture embossed in my case of a man with his pants pulled down and mooning the heck out of anyone who's eyes saw the case. Under the picture would be the inscription: "Show your ass.....it's pool, ain't it?"

When I see the op's question I think about what would I pay for? I personally am not too much into decorating my own personal case but I would pay for themes that mean something to me, art that I could carry around and have a conversation around.

I like the idea of the pool player as gunslinger roaming from town to town looking to snap off the best locals and prove night after night that he is the best, with the road leading to either fame and glory and wealth or broke obscurity. That might be a little deep but if I have the opportunity to work with a artist I can afford who gets it and is able to lay that down then that's the type of work I would commission.

My recommendation would try to be original in that none of the above.

I suggest you might try looking at

1.) tattoo magazines
2.) Comic book art (my brother in law is Greg Land and his art is incredible)
3.) WWII airplane art (such as Memphis belle, etc) IMO sexy is not nudes but ALMOST nude like that airplane art...I don't know what the right term for it is but you get what I mean I hope.

A case that remains in my mind for its sheer beauty was a JB painted flower case that ended up with Ralf (Big Tattoo) in Germany.

To me, that case was stunning; wish I still had a pic of it to put up here.

In its honor on my next Swift case I had Dennis carve a couple of flowers onto the top of the lid (see below). :wink:

But that JB was gorgeous from top to bottom. Ralf was lucky to get it.

It takes a confident pool player to walk into the pool hall with painted flowers all over his case. :)

I'd want a medieval theme with a castle or a gambling theme with, cards, knives, cigaretes and money.
 
hmm you guys gave me some ideas on what to paint next,very much appreciated but keep em coming,love the pierced nipple case john,im just glad its a female boob and not a male one lol

Keith can also make great looking titlist style cues with very even and needle sharp points. Ask me how I know. ;)

Dunno how such points would look painted on a case, but it's a thought.

It will be an Italian Horn, with a crown on top, wrapped in an Italian Flag. Similar to the image below, but without the text in the banner.

My name will be on the case, too. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

i will take any rusty melton tooled case and be happy
his western art tooling is as good as it gets
 
My case would be temptations...collage of strippers, cash, gambling, and booze....probably throw in some flames for good measure, and more strippers.
 
Yup, I would dig a case with this. Especially with a patina look... Too bad I don't have the funds for an additional case. I would be quite interested in checking out what could be done.

Grace Grace, made a case.
Art Art, lit a fart and blew the entire case apart.

Art is no longer welcome around my cases any more.

Anyone remember the old rhyme that all of us kids used to say. Gene Gene, made a machine etc.

JB made one that had some nice flames on it. Purdy esspensive but nice.

My first Harley had a flame job on it and I have always liked the old school Hot Rods with flame jobs on them.

If I were to dump a lot of money into art work on a case, I might be inclined to go with a
motorcycle theme for one and of course, include a liberal amount of Flames on it.

I am sure that many of the case makers are capable of doing that but if they were to get into minute details of a motorcycle
it would be considerably pricey.

Beyond that, I do have many interests and small hobbies, gardening included.

I'm not so sure that a case with tomatos, radishes, swiss chard and lettuce would look so cool.

Maybe just stick with the Motor Pickles.
