just curious ppl saying this guy/girl is A b c AA what Rank am i how do i find out
Robley...Try not to get too caught up in the "ranking" thing. It doesn't mean anything at all, and there is no consistent ranking system. Letter grades mean different things in different places around the country. Consider that you just finished well, in a tournament full of champion players. Rather than thinking that was a "fluke" (as Efren says, "I got lucky!"), believe in yourself that you can do the same thing in the next tournament you play in. That way you can look yourself in the mirror and say with confidence, "I'm a GOOD player, and I can beat ANYONE!" You already have a great attitude, good drive & ambition, and rapidly improving skills (with your own perseverance and help from others)! Keep up the good work, and quit worrying about "what rank am I"! In our eyes, here on AzB, you're an A+ PERSON...and that's more important than anything else! JMO

Robley,
You might try digging for old threads if you insist on ranking yourself, there was at least one that discussed rankings by how you play against the ghost. Been too long and I have long forgotten how the rankings went. Doesn't really matter as so many others have pointed out, rankings vary everywhere and are mostly in people's heads.
When you rank yourself you put yourself in a niche and that is a dangerous thing to do and can hinder your development. Some call themselves an A or even AA player, a very talented amateur. When they do that they accept that they are a notch below a shortstop or a pro. They usually play up to their expectations beating "other amateurs" but coming up short against people they rank higher than themselves.
Judging by performance lately you are at or very near the level that you can beat anyone on a given day, Shortstop in my book. You have the skills and what matters most is what is between your ears, your belief in yourself. When playing open pro's and road players remember that anyone can be beaten sometimes and this just might be their day to get beaten!
Respect other players, which I know you do, but don't put anyone up on a pedestal. Focus on playing to your best ability and let other people worry about rankings. The only ranking that really matters is in other people's minds anyway. When they see your name on the entry list and consider you a top contender you have arrived. They are often making the same mistake I am warning you about but now it works to your advantage!
The only thing you can control in an event or match-up is how you compare at that moment to your own best abilities. When you forget rankings and what you know about the other player's ranking then you are free of the mental baggage that can hold you back. Don't buy into rankings and think you should beat certain players and other players should beat you. When you do that the "given day" thing will come into play and you will be taken out of your mental game when losing to "lesser players" or will feel like you have already won after beating a "better player" early in an event and lose the competitive edge needed to finish off the event.
Keep playing great and don't get tangled up in the mind game that is all rankings really amount to. If you must rank yourself, rank yourself a champion, then go out and prove it!
