I just thought a new post had to be started since over 20 thousand people got to read what a scum bag stiff artist he was because of a previous thread.
This thread is truly not intended to beat up on Shawn the original poster of the stiff thread, its to make sure every one of the 20 thousand plus viewers of that thread see this one and know that it has been worked out just as guessed by anyone that knows Ronnie!

Some people posted in defense of Ronnie saying he would make it right if he felt he owed however, the majority chose to string him up some even making suggestions as to what would physically happen to him if seen in their areas! Thats actually pretty scarey to think about. What if someone had acted on that?

Either way, thank god the thing has been resolved at least for Shawn, lets see if we can help restore some of Ronnies reputation now by passing the word that its OVER and he WAS working it out with Shawn the entire time.

Next time before anyone types in anything negative about someone, you might wanna be dang sure its lawyer tight because you might end up in court for ruining someones livelihood and reputation if you hit enter! Probably best to settle it amongst yourselves whenever possible!

I'm not going to insult you about being new here, but the fault in your math is that 20,000 PEOPLE didn't read that thread. As usual, the same 50 PEOPLE clicked on it 400 times each, creating 20,000 VIEWS.

Defamation and slander aside, here is my view of this situation...

This ShawnD made a game and allowed himself to fall victim to an air barrel. Sure it wasn't a true air barrel and he will get his money, but none the less he allowed it to be possible. He's happy now because he is going to get paid (which he may or may not have anyway), but here is what I see coming from this.

ShawnD....you shot yourself in the foot. Like it or not, you didn't wait long enough to take your case public. You stated that you made a game with Wiseman to help your room and get some action in there. Well, good luck getting that action again. I know that if someone did what you did to me, you and I would never play again. Not only that, but the people I know wouldn't play you either. If I told you the money was in the bank and that you were going to get it, we stayed in contact the entire time, and we had always made good on previous bets...you better believe the money is there.

Jumping the gun and posting here has hurt you more than it could possibly help. I could understand if there wasn't any contact between Wiseman and yourself, but there were daily phone calls. I feel for you because we all make rash decisions on occasion, and I sincerely hope that your business does not suffer. But I will be surprised if you get to put on a good show, with lots of action for your customers, anytime in the near future.

But congrats on getting paid.:thumbup:
 
I guess I'm still a bit skeptical. If someone posts here that they've been air-barrelled; I'm all ears. If he is paid later; that's good for him. But it certainly sounds like the debtor did not make arrangements with the winner of the match; and paid later.

How long would anyone wait for their money if no prior arrangements had been made?

Did the debtor just pay over the fear of "bad press"?

Does the debtor mind if next time HE doesn't get paid at the time of the match; just some unspecified time later on down the road?

How about the big debt from DCC a couple of years ago? I had heard that got paid off to some degree down the road (???all the way???).

The thought that someone may pay me off at some unspecified time down the road does not fill me with confidence (I suspect most mortgage bankers would agree). If that is what passes for a good reputation in the pool world; then I guess Ronnie does have it.

I have no criticism of a person posting here trying to get paid.

maybe before you start a thread like this you should stop and think about whats going on behind the scenes. My money says that Ronnie contacted Shawn after the shitstorm thread on here and basically wants to save a little face before his action and reputation are totally dead. I'm sure he told Shawn he would pay him some if he would try to cover his rep a little. So now, Shawn's hand has been forced to issue a little reprieve to his initial thread in order to try and get paid anything.

I will bet with anyone posting in Ronnie's defense that Corvette is correct. Ronnie is paying now to save face, which he might have done anyway, but has made it clear to Shawn to never mention it again or he won't pay. To say Shawn shot himself in the foot for future action is ridiculous. The only person who should have a problem with what Shawn posted at all is someone who probably wouldn't pay anyway.

So,

Bravo. I think most everybody here would be happy to gamble with Shawn (at least those that bring their money to the game and are prepared to pay if they lose). I think most everybody would think twice about playing with RW (well....at least if they had some serious game, because RW can flat out play, no denying that). We can always run a poll if people disagree.
 
If I could still make three balls in a row, I would swim a river of shit to play someone like Shawn. Every player wants to gamble with the room owner. He's the one who's got the dough. :wink:

This is exactly right. I would love to be able to gamble with somebody like Shawn!!! The guy sounds like great action. Doesn't make sense to me. I think he is going to be in a lot of action due to his posts and people knowing he gambles well.

The only people it hurt his action with are the ones who plan to air barrel him, which unfortunately is alot of pool players.

2.Room Owners
3.Drug dealers

Those are the 3 where you can really make a score. DD are usually the worst players of the three but also the most volatile.

The biggest hits for me were from drug dealers, bookies, pimps, and believe it or not bikers. Most room owners that gamble can play a little. I was never looking for a fair contest. It never bothered me if I wound up with the best of it.:D Johnnyt
