What would you do if you had to play Chris Bartram a race to 11 games even for $1000.

Of your money. How would you handle this match up? No games on the wire, no weight from him! Play him even..... Perhaps you would just give him the money?
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Give him money? Hellll noooo.

Short rack bank pool, it can be one hell of an equalizer against a rack-runner.

If the bankroll allowed,I'd have already answered this question for myself.

Let's say I had for whatever reason to play him tomorrow.

The first thing I'd do is make him come to my town and make him play on equipment I'm familiar with.

Without having a single 9ft Diamond within a 2 hour drive in any direction, and maybe 100 total lifetime hours playing on one,my chances go up dramatically playing on what I have available.

Then,I'd make sure the table chosen and the balls were clean.

Post the money, make sure he flips the coin, call tails and get it ON.

No haggling for a spot until I see first-hand that I need it.

What will help me most here is the fact that I know how he plays,he doesn't know how I play, and until proven otherwise,I believe 100% that I want to beat him worse than he wants to beat me. Tommy D.

If i had too like someone held a gun to my head?

I guess i would have fun with it, watch him play and hope to learn something and get some racking practice in

Hey MRP2K12,
No option to get out of town by sundown either! Just stay and take the heat from the Real Bartram.

Similar to my response except it would be on the most F'ed up table I know...actually I know it very well. Where the rails are dead, how it leans, what pockets you can cheat and which ones are evil all play into it....a very "entertaining" POS table. It's like knowing how a putting green breaks and then some. The balls would be filthy as hell as usual. The usual rowdy crowd would be around raising hell as well and the screwed up fan would be running making a hell of a racket.....all of which I am quite used to.

Then I would play the best game I know how...which these days isn't very good. But I got my first college degree playing pool and I only ever played straight up so there is nothing new in that to me.

.

I would have fun and try to play my best.

I've won long even sets against top players before, so I would have the confidence that I could win.

If I didn't, there's no shame in losing to someone of his caliber.

Hey Chopdoc,
You would be singing I saw him first, huh! Good post.

I would cast a spell on him, that's what Warkocks do best!!!!!!!!!

Pretty easy...I would just beat him 11-5 or so and then have to deal with the fact that long sets are the only way to gamble... :)

I would just play. I might be an underdog, but I've beaten even better players before, so I always have the chance of surprising him.

Tall order, but he might be in trouble. Shoot .... I'd be in dead give-up stroke playing a guy like that even, anything is liable to happen. :D

Instead of losing my $1000 by actually playing him, I would just offer him $500 if he would walk away and cancel the whole match..... :frown:

I guess if I '...had to play...' , I would. But that's only if I had to. I'm sure he'd take cash, check, or money order. Well 1 out of 3 ain't bad.
