Just a doo dad I made to use on the lathe.
The first person (non cue repair/maker) to tell me what it is, I will send you 4 new Milk Dud tips for Christmas. If no one guesses, the person that comes the closest will get them.
Have fun.

It's a cue extension similar to the Tony Ryan extension. Pay up sucka :grin::grin:!!!

Maybe

It's a Butt Plug or a new Aiming Device.
Shape the top to silver dollar size and you could probably retire in 6 months.
Maybe you can make a holster for it.

Good guesses, but sorry. I mentioned that I can use it on the lathe.
Its made from an old cue shaft but not big enuff to have anything to do with a cue. Its sitting on the cross slide of the lathe, so its actually quite small.

it looks very similar to a bench dog used on woodworking benches. is it a stop gage of some sort?

Hi,
I'm going to guess that it is a gauge to check butt and forearm diameters???
Or it's a tooth pick for Leon Spinks.

I just read "quite small" so change my guess to a guage to confirm shaft diameters???

when moving into my new house i misplaced stoppers for my open wine bottles, i now have them made from bocote, cocobolo and rosewood.
chuck

A template for cutting tenons or drilling out ferrules or maybe a gauge for predrilling for joint pins.
It is 3 guesses for a quarter right?

A gauge to set your taper bars with???????? since it looks like it is sitting on a hightower lathe.

feeling twisted this morning

holder for a toilet paper roll !

Putting this and other posts together I just had an image of what it would look like if you chucked up a roll of toilet paper on a mandrel and spun it at about 750 or 1100 in a lathe. I'm picturing rolling the whole shop in seconds. I think I'll go try it, . . . . on somebody else's lathe!!

I'm guessing its threaded and you screw it on a finished or nearly finished butt to chuck in the lathe so to not damage the threads

Nevermind I just reread the posts

It's a rolling pin made for the guy that murdered Dr. Richard Kimble's wife  :grin::grin:!!!
