Jam, make me 'ten' though U don't know me, U actually do...and the "Eth' and I go way back to Costa Mesa in the mid to late 70's., and banged heads many times till the early 90's. U ripped me a good one (tried..Minnesota Fats) awhile back, yet My Point and Your supporting counter point were what and should be and are the backbone of this forum.
When I think of Clicks I think of Nick Alexander , Brunswick Gold Crowns, Texas and he...the owner of Clicks pool franchise, pretty sure at one point or maybe still Dick Lane and he were in Biz together in the earlier "Clicks' days. Now Nick resides also on the BCA board.
"Rent Cue" caught my eye and got my interest in reading this thread, as its not a word I've heard in the Sneaky Pete context.
Rent cue to me would mean, a pool room with NO house cues on wall racks, U had to bring in your own cue, or check/rent one out from the counter dude if you wanted to play at all.

Billiard Palace in Villa Park comes to mind in the literal sense of a 'RENT CUE'.
I found this particular thread kinda like a jury and the plantiff, what I now want to know, is...IS the Thread Starter, Guilty or Innocent

Im not in a click that I know of. What I do know is I think this is some weird thinking. You "love" pushing people's button it keeps you entertained"?

DAWM, I am fairly new to the forum myself, and I must really be missing something here. I don't know how to recognize cliques, I can't tell who the cool kids are, don't know how to tell the difference between posters who are too young to know what they are talking about from old farts that should be on a nostalgia forum . All I see are some opinions that do not necessarely agree with mine. I read them, think about them, move on, and don't feel that is my calling to try to convince them otherwise. I basically enjoy what everyone has to say.

I don't know you and I didn't read much of this thread. BUT...If you think JAM has only 9 friends on here you are SADLY mistaken.

There are a lot of us who love JAM, love her contributions and miss here terribly when she's on hiatus. We don't all jump in to defend her constantly for the sole fact that she doesn't need our help. She runs circles around her detractors, both in wit and character and we rather enjoy watching her lead unsavory characters to their demise day after day while they are usually too dim-witted to even realize how badly they've lost.

I don't know if you're being serious or not. But (and this ain't brown-nosing or a$$-kissing) you can have so much fun here with all you know about pool. I, for one, would love it if we could be pals. I never knew you until you started on me about the Larry Price post. I let it go. Then, I noticed you chimed in only to agitate on so many other threads that people write.

I don't know what any of us ever did to you? We weren't even talking about you when YOU came in all those threads and just start on people.

I'm probably setting myself up for another of your digs, but really, can't you just lighten up and have some fun here? Do you ALWAYS have to be so antagonistic? It's YOU who initiated all this. You get out of AZB what you put into it.

I'll offer the olive branch (bad wording) of peace, but only you can accept it or not. I tried it before and look what you did. I got no problem being your pal. But, that's up to you. It's a two way street.

Why do I suspect that? Your sign in name is "Gwen's up", which is a woman's name. For a woman to log onto AZB primarily to look at cues and cue BUILDING is surprising to me because I am not aware of very many women cue builders.
Also, what makes you think that this forum is any different than a slice of regular society? Everywhere in the world has groups of people who make friends & it's human nature to spend most of our time talking with & being friendly with those we know, trust & like. So, if a group of people get along with each other pretty well, respond to each others posts, PM's, etc., why would that be considered cliquish??? Why can't it be friends paling around? If a group of guys get together in a pool room to shoot, are they friends or a "clique"?

For someone "new", what makes you think that after 11 posts, everybody here knows you as well as those who have posted 3,000 - 7,000 times?
You sound or seem miffed that certain people get along really well here.

You feel that something is "very wrong" with people getting along with those we feel closest to and like the most??? If you're that disappointed with this crowd here because certain people have their favorites, just like we all have our favorite people at work, school, church or any where else we go that we're familiar with, then something IS "very wrong."

If you are not already an established poster here and really are Gwen who is into cue building, that's beautiful!

After thousands of hours here, the way I read your post, we should all be communists or whatever it is where everything is equaled out with everybody else? We're not supposed to be "cool" with those who have befriended us from day one???
See, we're friendly with those who are friendly BACK, not with the handful of misfits, whacko's or wannabeknowitalls who most of us ignore.

So, for you to be happy, YOU should tell ME who I should enjoy the most here. YOU should tell EVERYBODY here who we should or should not compliment, because according to your post, it's "very wrong" for someone to offer "praise" or "goes wild" over something that THEY think is worthy of such accolades. That doesn't make any sense to me. So, according to your logic, we should "go wild" over what YOU think we should "go wild over"?
How do you think the "big names" cuebuilders you groused about got to be "big names"??? Not by selling "rent-a-cues", that's for sure.

Of the 12,000 + members here, I can think of 5 who I personally don't like.
There's about 40 that I feel very close to. The rest are just basic people like me who enjoy the things of pooldom. For you to complain so strongly about "cliques" so early into your "new" time here is very surprising. That's not very typical of a brand new member here.

Lastly, then I got to go watch some Accu-Stats, everybody here can't get along the same way with everybody because everybody here doesn't know everybody the same way. And some we know wouldn't be the types we hang out with anywhere. Even in a pool room.

I don't know why, but your post hit a nerve or something in my head. Complaining so strong right out the gate? There's more there than you're letting on.

This was not meant to cause controversy or "hit a nerve" in anyone.
