Who did the seedings? Philippines have to deal with Thailand which they beat them in the Asian games if I am right. They could have slovenia,japan,malaysia,australia or qatar. but they got beaten by indonesia which is a veteran team with yang and zulfikri. remember yang won the philippine open.if they won that, they would have to deal with china and germany while the bottom half would have to deal with taiwan or USA later.

It is a clear attempt for me to lessen Philippines' chances. I think Efren and Django can beat anyone but still.fair is fair. correct seedings is correct seedings. Matchroom sports probably wants a new champion.

If you are going to be the best, you have to beat the best. Efren and Django are the best. No problems for your team at all.
 
You may have a good point. How were the seedings determined? As someone mentioned, Efren and Francisco can beat anyone. Hope they do. They are 2 of my favorite players.

you know thats effrens attitude.....with the way he thinks i don't think it would make him a bit of differience even if they were trying to rig it!

it doesn't make one dam bit of difference to effren and django who they have to play...

i just don't see why it would affect them in any way....no matter odds are whomever beats them if anyone does is going to have to really BEAT them.....cuz they are not handing it over to no one....

They are the team to beat everyone else is shaking in their boots over those two....as they should be.....

even if they already lost....everyone still can't win lol (j/k but man those two could make you feel that way)

Does anyone doubt that they are the best partners in the world....probably all time? Does anyone else know of any super duo's from back when?

Just admit that the better team won today. Efren and Bustamante committed lots of mistakes. It did not matter what team they faced today. Race to 8 too short to determine who really is the best team. I guess Efren was not 'lucky' today. Anyway, you still have the Philippine B team of Superman and Robocop (Gomez and Orcullo).

So you don't know who did the seedings or how they were done, but you know all that's necessary to blast out and accuse Matchroom of shafting the Filipino team?

Sorry, I just think you should know something about the seeding process before trashing Matchroom.

Yes the US sent a team, it's Johnny and Rodney.

As for the seedings they look OK to me, how you would have seeded them? What specifically do you think is wrong with them and why and how do you think the seedings were done to give the Phillipines less chance?

Having Phillipines 1 & 2 in seperate halves of the draw gave them both a chance of reaching the Final if they played well enough. Bottom line, Phillipines 'A' just didn't play as everyone knows they can do, today was one of those days.

As soon as I saw Klatt on the team I was worried, after the way he choked in the Border Battle. wheres Tyler Edie, much better under pressure imo.

PS Seedings look okay to me.
 
I watched the match, that yang is so rock solid under pressure I can see how Indonesia got there. Efren and Buste had problems with the breaks and missed some simple shots, they made every tough shot all match, it was the 2 or 3 balls they rattled that did them in. Efren also got very unlucky to leave a half masse to a dead combo after playing a pretty good safe in the final rack. 1 mm the other direction Efren and Buste still would have won, it was an awesome match give props to Indonesia for pulling that win out.

Here are the matches scheduled for DAY 4:

Friday, September 10

12pm - Germany vs Russia then England vs France

3pm - China vs Italy then Holland vs Finland

6pm - USA vs Poland then Philippines B vs Spain

I am not sure if they live stream the first 2 matches so if you tune in starting at 3 am US EST or 12 midnight US pacific, you will be able to see 4 matches in this order.

China vs. Italy
Holland vs Finland
USA vs Poland
Philippines B vs Spain

However, if they will show the first 2 matches (Germany vs Russia and England vs France) then it will start at 9 pm US pacific or 12 midnight US EST.

I agree in a way that if you are the greatest players, you should beat anybody. But great players have also adjusting periods. That's why there are rankings. Busta and Efren are great but they have to adjust as well. They have the privilege being number 1 to adjust early so they have the luxury of easier opponents in the first round. They way I see it its like Nadal taking on Djokovic in the first round or the Lakers meeting Cavaliers in the first round assuming the same conference.

No offense to the countries.Just an opinion.Look at the first round. Japan vs Slovenia. Thailand can beat both those teams. how about France vs australia? Team Philippines have probably never played them before but Thailand already beat Bata-Busta tandem in the Asian games. The players in France and Australia are not even familiar. How about Indonesia? Indonesia can even beat China and Taiwan. You know what. looking at the seedings. Italy, Canada, France, Spain is not better than Indonesia. the last seeds should be qatar, singapore,malaysia and slovenia. Anyway damage has been done. just an opinion.

I think the seedings were not studied correctly or it was a clandestine way of lessening the Philippines' chances.
