Where does Mike Dechaine rank

Just my opinion but I think he is just behind those guys but not much.

I've alway compare todays players to Rempe in his heyday. He had game, and a consistency few ever achieve. Jimmy Marino also in his day, gave Rempe all he could handle. I don't see this skill level or heart or gamble like that of his predecessors from MD. But that's him, kinda like a Bullfrog sittin' and Waitin' for the right game....Slurp. Met quite a few in S. Cal. seventies. And the gypsies workin' it, Chicago summer, and winter at Paramount Billiards, Long Beach Blvd. Long Beach California, mid/late seventies.

I think my not in the top 10 was a stretch...so I like corey, dennis hatch, bergaman, skyler, shane, and appleton over mike d

Shane and maybe Darrin would be favorites by a bit, the rest are at best even. Not talking a race to 5 or 7 one night, over the course of a year of playing.

Minnesota

You sir are totally out if your mind. Just to name a few, please tell me someone that will play even big table 10ball (without blowing thier backer) from Indiana, Ohio, penn, NJ, Delaware, West Virginia, michigan, New Hampshire, Vermont, CT, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, oregan, Washington, Nevada, Alaska, az, new mex, Arkansas, lousinisna oh man I can keep going.

Pay him for a month to practice. Lee Heuwagen.

I went to the MD vs JS TAR match and after it was over I had the pleasure of having coffee with Mike. He's a smart and driven young man. He's more self aware than people give him credit for. He understands that in the past he's rubbed some people the wrong way. He seems to need to be jazzed up to play his best. Almost like Earl who needs to feel the underdog to bring out the Hulk. I feel he's taking steps to overcome this but some people will never put it past him.

Mike is the complete deal. You can't be standing over a shot thinking "oh I'm not sure I can beat this guy". You got to be thinking I'm going to shove this ball down his throat. The trick is to keep the Hulk in the bottle and away from public view.

Anyone who doesn't realize that Mike is TOP5 or better American is delusional. Probably TOP3. I truly believe he's a future US Open Champion. Now if we can only teach him how to chalk his cue better than a C-.

It's a shame that pro pool is so fractured we can't have a true genuinely reflective world ranking.

Set it up, no weight, and you can stake Mike in every state.

I think you are just flapping your keyboard fingers because if I thought you *really* meant what you were saying, I'd have my car warming up while I clear my calendar.

Do you think Mike is ranked 51st in the US?

Unless you planned on bringing in 'out of towners', like maybe have Shane come to all 50 states, then Mike's the favorite in just about every one of them.

This is not speculative.

I'm seeing the thread about Justin Bergman so just wanted to ask an get people's opinion where do you think Mike Dechaine ranks in terms of American pool players. Let's see if mike puts his two cents in

If you held a tournament in coin toss for 5 years you most likely to have different 1st place winners. In pool at pro level luck becomes a big factor; so to ask about Mike's rank it does not make sense in pool, in snooker it does. Mike has great break in 9 and 10 ball, runs packs for sure, almost all top pros do have that qualifications. On what basis do you want to rank him? SVB break maybe equal to Mike's, SVB plays more tournaments, SVB position play much better, could Mike beat SVB sure at times..if you ask who has more fans then we can rank him!

Did you just say Shane's break might be equal to Mike's?

So, let's begin, starting in ME, NH, RI, NJ, DE, NM, ND, MT, & WY.

who will Mike be playing, where, when, and for how much?

Anxiously awaiting your response.

Who cares what your BCA points are??? He performed miserably in the Mosconi Cup. If I keep putting a horse in the Preakness and he stumbles every time and comes in last, I'm not going to keep hauling him there.

well you cant :) The Preakness is only for 3 year olds
