Jasmin Ouschan won the WPBA title yesterday-

let's see if we can get her brother Albin and fellow Austrian player,
Mario He
and Vietnamese player Quan Do,
paid!

Any news?

Johnny, if I won the US OPEN I'd sell another 300,000 TOI DVDs

300,000 x $24 = $7,200,000

A tiny bit of a stretch, don't you think.

If it is that easy to become a Multi Millionaire, I am pretty sure that I am going to invent something very soon, myself.

Glad that he had enuff left over to have a special shirt made.

After about 4 good decent years, I got screwed year after year on the VIP seats too. One year all i had was a table in front of my left elbow-i was sitting in the aisle and this was an official seat!! I gave up on them at least 8 years ago.

Barry got massive complaints every year on them but he just had to squeeze in those extra seats where they didnt belong for those immediate $$ making everyone uncomfortable.

No foresight at all, Let's face it Barry IS the dullest knife in the drawer.

Never put your faith in an alcoholic that is not in a program or recovery. Barry openly drinks before his order of business is complete. This tells me he is out of control..Hopefully he can get help and get his tournament and some order put into his life before it's too late...

Money is barely in the top 5 reasons that people are motivated to work.

That is worrying comment. So you still think players should be paid but you may be convinced that players should not be paid :D

It's healthy to want everyone to be paid in every walk of life. This is not going to happen, the system's not designed for fairness or there would be no need for attorneys. ;)

The US OPEN is/was a great event and changed the lives of many players in a very positive way. To think that money is the only reason these players competed and won would be naive'. Money is barely in the top 5 reasons that people are motivated to work.

This is true for some demographics maybe not completely for Pool Players but at any rate the man made things right and look back at what he has done. This is the 40th year of adding one large sum of money. He could have easily added less and wrote checks the day it was over, but this is the US Open and he wanted to do more and screwed it up royally at times but as far as I know right now he is even with the players.

I have only one other complaint about the Open.

I would like to see it more friendly to General Admission participants. If he could fix that and then maybe he could get some support out amongst a larger audience. If you dont purchase VIP seating, you may not get to see what you went to see and even if you do, you might get there and find out the seating you purchased isnt there.

To me thats an equally hard problem to solve. Getting enough admissions and getting more people there for the vendors.

Now that all players have been paid, now it's time for the Barry nuthuggers to come back on here telling us again how wonderful Barry is and how much he does for pool. Every year they come back slowly (slower each year though) to tell us how bad we are for saying bad things about poor Barry. Hell, I get PM's worse than anything I said about Barry. And some of the names I'm called in these PM's have made me cry myself to sleep...many a night. Johnnyt

Really. Give us the top 5, with Money being 6 or under.

Myself, I can tell you that doing what I do at a Hospital can be very gratifying most days.

But, if I wasn't receiving a nice deposit in my account every 2 weeks, I probably wouldn't be anywhere close to that place.

Eating, having my utilities cut off and living in my truck is a fairly large motivator for me to have money to give to people.

I don't particularly have a problem with wandering around hammered. hell, I'd probably wanna wander around with a half a blotter sheet in me at least once

But that only affects him. When he imposes hardship unto others for the same shit ANNUALLY, there's the wrong wrong wrong.

The players should probably take him to court, might be a class action suit and then Barry wouldn't have to worry about who's gonna buy his poolroom.

I seriously think it is a game to him, to see how far he can push a class of people...to treat them in ways that normal society won't tolerate.

Send letters, emails and complain to WPA, billiards digest, inside pool and YouTube clips.

Barry won't change unless forced to by industry strong arms.
