Love it!

My vote goes for the hillbilly bus. It looks like it could get around in Iraq OK!

As for the Russ pic, I hope that's not him! Actually, I'm pretty sure it's not!

I Hide My Money In My Diaper TOO

I agree that Russ fits perfectly in the Hillbilly 'Short Bus'....
That picture looks like me on my way to the poker room.

Just so everyone is clear.........this post was just for fun. Plain and simple. Maybe at Russ' expense, but I know him to be a good natured fellow who hopefully won't mind a little fun!!! I don't really know Russ C., but I agree with his take on pool and life in general!!

Have a safe one over there in Iraq Russ C. !!!!!!!!!

Yah yah yah.. I can take a joke from the people who are good natured about it, like poolhustler, TX Poolnut, (sigh...) even Smorg..

Thing is, that some people on the board actually hate my guts just because we have different political/religious/drug related beliefs, and they will probably be keeping their Short Bus Russ-related sigs for the next two years..

I don't get it, myself.. A lot of pros have very different concepts of what a shortstop is, and I explained that to me, a shortstop is not necessarily a pro level player, and Buddy Hall feels the same way, but some are still mean spirited about it, and won't let it go.

At this point, I figured I'll just eventually let my stick do whatever talking it is capable of, and look at the mean ones as good advertisement. They will never give me credit for being a good player until I take down some cash.

Don't misinterpet me.. I think most of you guys are good fellas, and as long as I get the idea that we could meet up some day when I am in town for some friendly/semi-friendly pool, then the ribbing is just fine.

Some folks, however, I think it's going to be a real serious thing if we ever meet over a pool table.. :D :D :D

Russ

I love playing pool and I would be more than happy to play some friendly, or cheap sets with you, just for FUN!!! That's what its all about, isn't it??
Unless you're DCP, then there is no fun, just complaining.......

I'm no world beater, never will be, but if you're ever in Los Angeles, look me up.......I will have my Gold Crown I set in a couple of weeks!!!

Take care buddy!!!!

Russ,
Why did you have to throw that out?
I'm just speaking for myself here. I don't know if others "hate" you or not. I know for a fact I certainly do not hate you. I don't really know you, other than reading these boards.
But, I have an observation.

It seems to me that YOU are the one with all the anger and hostilty because of YOUR views. You're the one who's always upset. You're the lightning rod. And, honestly, I really think you enjoy the attention. I've seen several posts of yours that you just rant and rave when someone even mentions religion or religious beliefs. Which, you'll agree, is a major factor in a majority of most American's lives. But,they faced the "wrath of Russ" for mentioning something about God. It's YOU Russ.

I have nothing against you at all. I know for a fact that I've given you good rep in the past. Long ago, I sent you PM's asking you questions related to pool and Iraq, and for whatever reason, you never responded. But I also remember when I mentioned to Walt that God is only capitalized when it refers to the one true God of the Holy Bible that BAM!, in you come with your snide and sarcastic comments. It's YOU Russ. It's funny how you respond to something that was between me and Walt with an attack that, if the same kind were thrown at you, well, again, I think you know how you respond. You seem very eager and proud to express "your right" to put down God and / or religion. That's sad, really.

So, I don't think you're hated. Rather, I think you have some very strong dislike in you for some things. I don't recall anyone here ever having such ill feelings towards you. I think the common denominator is many people here see what you want them to see about you.

And Russ, I certainly don't mean to bash you in any way. I imagine you won't take this as it's intended. Which is to answer some questions you always seem to have about why some posters here treat you as they do.
After all, you are the one who posted that people actually hate you. I don't think anyone here even comes close to hating you.

I'm probably just as wrong for responding to something that is really none of my direct business. But I and others also have some very strong beliefs that we have to live by as well. Just as you are free to express YOUR feelings, well, other are equally free to express THEIR feelings. This post is my attempt to reason with you, nothing else. I've tried hard to do it in a very respectful manner.

Sorry if this upset you.

I wish you well.:)

Terry,

I have really never tried to put down anyone's religion, I just wish to make them aware that they believe what they believe based on either what makes them feel good, or what their parents or friends taught them to believe, not what "logic" tells them to believe.

A lot of people like me just take it quite personally when a religious minded person uses the word "logic" to explain why they believe what they believe, when that's nto true at all. The majority of religious folks choose faith as their reason to believe, and reasoned logic never comes into the equation.

By that, I mean, as long as one is willing to admit they have no particular reason to believe what they believe, and they believe it because that's just what they want to believe, then in general, I am going to respect that person's belief structure so much more.

But when that person tries to tell me that it is only logical to believe what they believe, and that others should believe the same, well that's when I start having a problem, and will loudly voice my issues with that.

There are quite a few people on the forum that willingly admit they do not know God's plan, and simply try to lead a good life, and hope that's sufficient.

Then, there are all the others that presume to know that God will torture non-believers for all eternity, just because a book (written by men with a vested interest in growing the religion) said so. I never said I have all the answers. But I will be quick to tell anyone else that they do not have the answers either, so they should stop pretending that they do.

Russ

Russ,

Although you and I differ on our personal beliefs, I do appreciate the fact that to you, yor opinion is as valid for you as mine is to me. I think it's safe to say that most all of us on this forum have strong beliefs and views of what happens after we die.

Let me say one final thing please before we move on. You and I and everyone else here loves pool. Some people who love pool also love to gamble on pool. Gambling on pool is one thing. Gambling with your soul is something else. I'm not writing this to prove who's right or who's wrong. And it's not to put you or your beliefs down. It's really written to let you know that someone else also has an opinion on this subject.

The bible says in 1 John 5:12 "He who has the Son (Jesus) has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." (Eternal life)

It's pretty simple to see that we all have a choice to make in life. It boils down to "do we believe God or don't we?" I just choose to believe Him.

I'm not willing to gamble my soul for all of eternity. If God says something, well, since He does know more than me, I gotta believe He's right. And also, I look at God as so loving. I'm not afraid that God hates us at all.
If he allowed His Son to die for us, then He must really love us.

I guess we'll all find out what happens when we die. Me, I'm not gambling with my soul. If I'm wrong, and there is no God, well, I really haven't lost anything, have I?

Russ, thanks for responding in such a civil and dignified manner in your post to me. I hope that I've been the same towards you.

We had better get back to pool now, before we risk Federal hijacking charges from the others here.:)

Take care Russ.

nobody messes with federal or national anymore

.

Not to worry Terry, nobody is concerned with federal or national scale anymore. We are going to bring world court charges of hijacking against you both! :D :D :D

I'm trying to scrape together an extra fifty bucks to add to one of Buffalo's weekly one-pocket events that pays Seventy-five for first, twenty-five second, with a free entry. When I do I will name that week's event the Intergalactic, Tri-Universe, Earth, Heaven, and Hell, One Pocket Championship. All the pikers calling their events world championships will be green! :D :D :D
