LOL, Walter. I never cease to amaze myself when it comes to typos! :p

But now that you mention it, everybody seems to have a nickname in this business. Look at the Planet Pool 9-Ball Tour as an example, i.e., Genie Man, Shawn the Shirt, Pookie, Earthquake, Shorty, Jimmy Mack, Donut Man. I've always thought Mike Davis with the initials "M.D." should be called Mike the Doctor. He's having a great year, second place in World Summit, first place in Joss-Quincy. He also came in the money in Atlanta.

I can see the headlines now: "Running-Out-Like-Water Walter Triumphs in Arnold." :D

Thanks for the reply on Brian Atchley, Keith. I have lived here in Poplar Bluff, MO all my life and have never met him, but I heard he played great. I haven't seen you since the Open; are you coming to Shannon's tournament in Knoxville Halloween weekend?

I beg to differ my friend....Big Arm John that resides in indianapolis is originally from decatur, Illinois. He is not to be confused with Concrete John who is from Kentucky and stakes John Brumback.

After his performance at the US Open, is there no room on the Arizona list for John Morton, I believe AKA our own Rude Dog? I've not watched John play but, from the comments coming from the open, I would guess he plays very well indeed! :confused:
 
Rude dog may very well indeed be on the Arizona list. I have never seen him play. Hey Rude dog, do you ever make it down to Phoenix for any tournaments?

I also think you have to add Don Westbrooks, Chris Adams and George Ramirez.

Westbrooks deserves to be in with the top 5 definitely.

For the Floriday types, I think you now can add Ronnie Wiseman. From what I have heard, he left Michigan and is now in Florida.

For the Michigan group, add Larry Nevel, now housepro at Hall of Fame.

I haven't heard about Strong Arm John in a while!! He ran through Jacksonville, about a year ago! I didn't think he was that great...???

Yep, Bob still plays. You can find him at Clicks on some nights. I watched their Masters League Team play one night at Clicks Marsh Lane. Bob V. Paul Guernsey, JLChin and not sure who the other was, but they were TOUGH!

Texas is a hard state... besides those mentioned, which is a list of great players, there's Sylver Ochoa, Jiu Lung Chin, Moises Herrera, Bullard and a host of others. I don't live in Texas, but there are some STRONG players there.

Oklahoma? Damn, most of our best players are migrating.

Gabe Owen, left Tulsa, moved back to Wichita
David Matlock, left Grove, moved to the St. Louis area, I think.
James Walden
Fat Randy is pretty stout (that was not a pun)
Shane McMinn (this kid's a sleeper... watch out for him if you're in Tulsa)
Richard Pierce

To be honest, there are a LOT of players in Tulsa that are world class
