Who makes the best shafts??

South west cues makes great shafts but the wait mightbe a while

Fry might be your best buy,he worked with Scruggs for years and
is really talented

provided it's got the 5/16x14 pin (I've seen some with the 3/8x10), then I'd probably go with a Joss HP shaft.

If you're looking for something inexpensive - Schmelke.

Honestly for a 5/16 shaft - Schon makes really Nice stuff and the quality is very nice. I've been a collector for decades and the old Schon stuff is always true and of great tolerances. I think they're the best "off the rack" custom cue company

Also I have an old Tim Scruggs shaft with ivory ferrule and 13mm if you're interested. It's probably 25 years old and straight and solid as day one.

Searing makes the best shafts.

Fry is probably your best bet to get for Scruggs.

I played Predator shafts on my Scruggs for 10 years :grin-square::grin-square::grin-square::grin-square::grin-square:

If you want to play with it, Andy Gilbert. If you can get him to build one, Bob Runde.

Those are my suggestions from makers you may actually have a shot of getting something from.

Shafts

I agree with the Andy Gilbert suggestion if he has time to build them. He built shafts for a Klein cue & he matched them perfectly, & they play fantastic. I have a dozen of Andy & Vicky's cues & they all play great, & they are super people to deal with. Good luck, Rick

Get with Bob Frey. He worked with Tim and made many of Tim's sought after SP's. He has some good shaft wood stashed.

I will make it convenient - 410-747-7392

Good luck,

-Kat,

Send it to Phillippi Cues. He can match absolutely any ringwork. Top notch quality and he can match the shaft taper you already have.
