It's satin wood into birdseye some sort of figured maple with lacewood points (kinda reminds you of a Joss sneaky looks wise, but with a big radial pin). Since Pat has had it for awhile, I'm sure he'll deal a little with ya.

I would have easily recommended one of Pat's sneakys, but you can't get one with 2 shafts in your price range. They occasionally come up for sale in the wanted/for sale section here; you could look there. One G-10 pinned butterfly sneaky I tried of Pat's was the BEST hitting cue I've ever tried.....it was pretty odd looking in wood combination (ebony into bacote), so I hemmed and hawed, and someone else snagged it! :(

I have an old, beat up Madison Bob that plays very good. One shaft, rolls straight, I'd sell it reasonable and post a video if anybody is interested.
 
TNT makes the the best sneakies for the price hands down!!!!The maker is KOINKID on here!!!!!He's calls them Sneakiest Petes.
 
Has to be Little Al Romero. I love mine.

Charged me $220 and made me an extension for it too. I doubt that the extra shaft would take you over the $300 mark.
 
I make some deluxe models but with one shaft at $375 and up.

I have to second Joey Bautista. I have one of his plain janes, and it is only plain on the outside. That cue is a monster under the skin. You will pay a little more, but you will not find more cue for the money.

I've had a bunch and my favorite 3 that I've had are Cash Cue, Joey Bautista and a Joe Callaluca. They may all be over budget but they're all worth every penny they charge. I'm still kicking myself for selling the Joey cue, his satin type finish on the one I had felt so good.
 
Those ones that Joey has look real good. I don't think you would be unsatisfied one bit.

If I were gonna buy a full spliced cue, I would get one from Travis Nicklich or Paul Sumrall. They both post on here.
 
My three best hitting sneaky's of all time would be a 1. Ed prewitt purpleheart 2. Tim Scruggs bocote with phenolic joint and 3. Kersenbrock purpleheart

I dont get some of these cues, with bright colors, a sp, is supposed to look just like a house cue, so the Mark wont know you are using a superior cue. And what happened to the really nice, solid, good playing sn for $150 to $200. :)
 
What about the McDermott sneaky pete? I've been wanting to get one and throw a Z2 with Uniloc joint on there and have someone take the Z2 logo off. is it possible to take the McDermott butt and turn the 3/8x10 pin into a uniloc pin?

My pre 90's Jensen SP hits nice. It hits on the firmer side as well, looks just like a house cue. Only one shaft @ 12.6mm 15.6 oz butt, with an even split of 29.5" 3/8 10 pin. This can be had for way way less than 350.00. Has a slight taper roll, tip does not leave the table, body is arrow straight.

IMO, Tim Scruggs sneakies are the best sneakies out there. For decades, they were sought after, and now some command $600+ with only one shaft. Even now, with the up and coming cue makers, Scruggs sneakies are a preferred choice by discriminating players that know.

That being said, you won't be able to get a new one, as he doesn't make them anymore. BUT, Bob Frey does - and Bob made many/most of the sneakies that have a TS logo on them.

Do a search here and RSB if interested on Tim/Bob's sneakies. They are worth every penny.

Part of the reason, they were sought after was how much they cost. The room I played out of, those sneaky's were used as break cues. There were 100's of them around here. Seems like everyone had one.

And of course they play great.

just fyi, if i were you and wanted to get my hands on one of his sneaky's, id go in and talk with him.... even if that meant having to come to LA from afar. with few exceptions he gets to hard times late afternoon and is normally there most of the night.
