Who Really Cares why Fatboy Left

I'm printing the post off and going to visit a high school English teacher, I'll get back to you with corrections in a day or two. :)

OK, and then we play Pool :D

Good post Craig...

Will I miss Fatboy - yes
Will the sun still come up tomorrow morning - yes
Will life, as I know it, come to a screeching halt because of his absence - No
Ultimately, it is all "entertainment".

I met Fatboy and talked to him at DCC and I just have to tell you, as cool as Jay is if Fatboy is ok with Jay he is ok with Leonard

Come to think of it all of the AZer's I met at DCC were cool

You didnt meet me and I was there, does that mean I am not cool??
If so, up yours!

Just trying to keep the Drama flowing.

Do I need 6 or 7 smilies to denote that I am joking?

Was it only a month ago that he was given a godlike status for the whole Bucktooth deal?
Did everybody think the whole thing was hilarious?
Of course!
But whatever soap opera's are going and rolling through here seem to be sending more and more people into hiding.
Well, maybe not hiding, but there are apparently less people running through here now than there used to be.
It used to be alot more fun in here, without all the flaming, name calling, smearing that most of us still find fairly amusing, but what is happening to AZ?
If Fatboy wants to leave that's up to him, just like any of us that apparently have no more life than to hang around searching threads.
There are alot of goodguys on here as well as some that are obviously not in the same class.
Regardless, this should still be a fun environment, that for the most part is still centered around the main reason we are here.
There are some absolute geniuses around here at tracking down mystery cues, parts, information, you name it.
That's what brought me here to begin with.
With the commonwealth of knowledge that is pooled here, you'd think this is the center of the Billiards Universe, where you can learn about anything involving pool/billiards.

But I'm seeing a fairly regular amount of woofing (who cares), bragging (goes with the territory), cliques(there's a gathering of humans-DUH) and general beratement of newcomers that may actually just want to learn something.

We had really a great time. He has the poolspirit in his heart, he really likes the game and the players and he trys to make it more popular (like a lot of players try to do).

If you just read his postings and search for negative things, you will find them. But read your own postings and try also to interpret every word negative and you will see it depents on how much you are opinionated against a person.

Maybe i cant write perfect english, but i try to read every posting here without any harm.
And try to find positive things .

For all native speakers here, it should be more easy for you to do like I discribed. Try it out and you will see how your mind will change about others people here.

If you still going on with your search about negative things, its also ok. But you will see, deliverer of bad (negative) news are mentioned only for bad (negative) things.

Just think a little bit about it....

Positive greets from Austria ;-)
Markus

Thanks for this post Markus! :)

I checked out your website, your English is decidedly better than my Austrian or French or Spanish or ... I did figure out "foto" however. :D

Does this mean the position of Sheriff is open?:D

The Sheriff's title will no longer be self-appointed.

The Sheriff must now be elected by popular vote and multiple identity votes will be allowed in keeping with AZ tradition. :D

This is easier than 2+3=1
Doug, the highest rated member, is our "Grand Poo-pah" or whatever other ceremonial name we can bestow upon our "much beloved & highly respected" "King". He's like the Queen of England (:D )in that although she is atop the throne, she's not really running the country. And Doug, perched atop our AZB throne, as far as I know, does not gamble high when playing pool. So I say, skip down to....

Jay Helfert, who is the number 2 highest rated member on AZB
Joey, you're up to the #3 highest rated member on AZB.

Here's my idea. I don't know if either of you two ever thought about this or not, but why don't YOU GUYS play a set or better yet, an all-around DCC type match up & the winner will be our newest SHERIFF!

Think about this and mull it over. Maybe you two can even get in touch with each other and start some preliminary negotiating. (:) )

I for one must say this would be one scintillating match up!:D

But of course.

As a matter of fact, since Smorgie is our highest rated member, he should be like our congressman and represent the needs & wants of his peeps.
And we needs and wants Jay & Joey to, as Michael Buffer would say, "Let's get it on!"

So, Doug should be like our Don King and be the "promoter" of this juicy fantasy match up and take the onus for getting the conditionals acceptable for each player.

Since we the people are looking for a new "sheriff", we should also expect King Smorgie to help make this happen. Remember, to who much has been given, much will be required!

Not putting the 8 ball ahead of the 9 ball, but I also think that the winner should have to next face Blackjack David Sapolis for their 1st title defence.

Doug, remember, we're counting on you here. Don't be like Marie Antoinette when she heard the needs and wants of her people and she simply replied "Let them eat cake!" Her head soon rolled around after that comment like a Larry Nevel cue ball after his power break!

I nominate Joey for Deputy Sheriff. You know the Barney Fife role where he carries a gun and only one bullet. But he can only load it with permission from the Sheriff. :)

I'm trying my best to stir the pot...

Jay,
Why just last night, I had a dream that I was walking past Buffalo Billiards and when I looked inside, JoeyA was stuffing more quarters in the juke box.
Sounded something like this.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10qLYy6hiFQ
:D

Still stirring....

Jay,
Anyway, I woke up & went back to sleep. And then I had another weird dream. I dreamed I was in your basement eating a cheese burger & drinking a chocolate shake while I was watching you dril bank after bank after bank. But it was hard to concentrate, because of the video you had in the VCR.
If I remember right, it went something like this..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ze4MqlLO7LM..

It is what it is...

Like most forums, we are all just a microcosm of society. We have knowledge, attitude, paranoia, respect, debauchery, theft and many other things that I can't spell or define! On top of that, we are expected to decipher written words without the help of audible inflection, to even know if we are being complimented or insulted. At times, Fatboy's bravado was over the top. Other times he would relate interesting information that was pertinent to the forum. Aside from the criminal element, I hate to see anybody go into personal exile here! Most of us came here seeking information and opinion, but hey, what's wrong with a little fun? Everybody has somebody they love to hate!

the loser of the match

Whoever plays and loses the final match must be obligated to sing the entire "I shot the Sheriff" song.

I think Jay will be a little off key when singing, while he's wailing like a little girl. :D

he was perhaps a bit naive about how brutal folks are on the "anonymous" internet

I can not agree with this at all, people are different on a forum that they are in real life. The only diffrence is what they say here, they would normally say behind your back or out of ear shot!!

That is quite a profound statement. Thanks for that ;)
