Who were some of the best women players for the cheese now and years ago? I know some of them from the last 10-15 years, but not many after that.

Abbink, Lee, Sarah R, Monica, Hsin Huang, Vivian, Myuki Sakai, Ng I played either Ng or Sakai in FL and won, but she could play. Can't forget OMGWTF.

I tried to Get Ga Young Kim on the table in Lakeland, FL when she was playing the Spirit Tour but she said she didn't know how I played so needed some weight. Thank God I didn't swallow that worm...I bet there was a hook in it  Johnnyt

Jennifer Chen, Helena Thornfeldt and Lori Shampo (1980's) were all very successful action players that are missing from your list.

Yes I new that Lori and Helena were and forgot to put them down. I didn't know J. Chen was but I can believe it. Most that saw Lori play say she was the best. Johnnyt

Vivian I have seen her in Vegas a few times years ago robbing alot of people.

I played her at Fatso's in Tampa. She gave me the 8...I won. She wanted the to play even then and raise the bet. I said yes to play even and no to raise the bet. She called me something that sounded a hell uv a lot lile "nit". Nah not me. Johnnyt

I've mentioned her goefore, but, one of the best I ever saw was a lady named Geraldine Titcomb.
This was back in the early 80's while she and her husband Frank were partners with Grady in apool room in Aurora Colo.
The lady could flat play.

June Hager Walter - she wasn't afraid of anyone. I loved watching her gamble because she played so well - she talked a lot of $hit, too, during her match ups; it was cool to watch. lol

I've never heard of her. Can you give us some info on her? Where she was from, did she play in tournaments or was just into action. Thank you. Johnnyt

June Hager was the real deal! She had no fear of betting high with anyone, provided the game was right.

Present day I like Vivian as much as anyone, and she won't dog the bet either. Last I saw her in action was some friendly 500 a game Banks, with a good Banker too. Vivian took it off! Monica also plays solid for the cash, and little Sarah Rousey surprised me when she won that money game with Monica. My buddy Ming was a ferocious little gambler as well, and not many women (or men) would ever bark at her.

But I think the best of all is getting overlooked here. Jeanette plays very good for the cash and isn't afraid of a serious bet. And she can play all games! I don't see anyone (among the women) I like over her in an all around battle for serious money. Let me tell you something. If you are talking an all around of 9-Ball, One Pocket, Banks, Straight Pool and Three Cushions, not that many men are favorites over Jeanette. As long as she's healthy.

She played in tournaments and also gambled. She is the lady in the UJ Pucket video that was in another thread. She hung around the best for most of her life and was on the road with her husband, John Hager (their son is John Drew Hager). I've never met John, but John Drew is a great guy and his Mom is an amazing woman who helped me out a lot with life things in my 20s.

She currently lives in San Antonio, Texas and has been there for many years.

She gambled Melissa Little and Monica Webb, and of course many good Texas players as well. I can't recall who else she played in the mid 90s, but I remember those two nights especially. Before I met her, I'm sure she matched up with many more known named players!

I agree with you. Jeanette can play all games very well if she's healthy. She has bet and won many a dime in her time. She doesn't book too many losers either. Johnnyt

Thank you for that. Johnnyt

I always liked watching Ming Ng play. She's a scrapper with a lot of heart. I loved it in Reno when some of the guys wanted to gamble, she would walk over and flip the coin ready to play. She's cool to:thumbup: .

June hager is also a very attractive/pretty lady.

Rachel Abbink has probably played more money matches than some of the better known pros. She traveled a lot with Larry Nevel and so she's also had some very good schooling.

As SJM already mentioned, Lori Shampo & Jennifer Chen would also rank high in my opinion.

This has been posted before but here is a pic of Lori Shampo back in the day, circa 1980. Lori would bet it up ! Many cocky men fell to her charms and skill...Tom

She was by far the best woman money player I ever saw, or heard of. She not only played great for the cash, she would step up against any man! Lori played many matches in Detroit against guys, where tens of thousands were riding on the outcome. She made some monster scores for herself and her backers.
