Who were some of the best women playing for the cheese

She played in tournaments and also gambled. She is the lady in the UJ Pucket video that was in another thread. She hung around the best for most of her life and was on the road with her husband, John Hager (their son is John Drew Hager). I've never met John, but John Drew is a great guy and his Mom is an amazing woman who helped me out a lot with life things in my 20s.

She currently lives in San Antonio, Texas and has been there for many years.

She gambled Melissa Little and Monica Webb, and of course many good Texas players as well. I can't recall who else she played in the mid 90s, but I remember those two nights especially. Before I met her, I'm sure she matched up with many more known named players!

Her best score was against a book in Detroit when John Drew weas a baby. She beat the guy out of somewhere around $350000.

Bet on Lori

This has been posted before but here is a pic of Lori Shampo back in the day, circa 1980. Lori would bet it up ! Many cocky men fell to her charms and skill...Tom

For the money and the intimidation, she (Lori Shampo)was a female CornBreadRed, only much better looking. I had a serious case of the hots for her.

She was by far the best woman money player I ever saw, or heard of. She not only played great for the cash, she would step up against any man! Lori played many matches in Detroit against guys, where tens of thousands were riding on the outcome. She made some monster scores for herself and her backers.

I am sure it was posted before but what happen to her, since you all talk about her in past tense, it sounds pretty tragic? :sorry:

She OD'd or died from drug related ailments about 5-10 years ago. She may have been about 40 when she died. RIP Lori, Lord knows she never had much in this existence.

What a sad ending... it does sounds like the makings of a very interesting book there though...

Jennifer Chen and Aileen Pippen used to travel around and play doubles for the cash. Jennifer would always break and she crushed the balls. They beat me out of a few dollars in San Diego. Bill Stock

Kelly Fisher can make a ball or two, also. I just missed her by an hour once in Raleigh. She beat a pretty good player here.

June Hager Walter - she wasn't afraid of anyone. I loved watching her gamble because she played so well - she talked a lot of $hit, too, during her match ups; it was cool to watch. lol

OMG!!! I havent heard Junes name for awhile. I have played her twice in Vegas at the BCA Nationals. WOW, what a character. Unfortunately she wasnt real happy with me. I won. LOL Boy, I will never forget her for sure. LOL

There's a lot of distractions though . . .

I agree with you. Jeanette can play all games very well if she's healthy. She has bet and won many a dime in her time. She doesn't book too many losers either. Johnnyt

I mean . . . how do you focus on the shot when you have that sitting next to you . . . AiiiiicheeeeWAWA!

As you and I can attest, ironman, VV plays that Hole-A-Piece pretty damn sporty and will jack it on up too.

I staked Ronnie Allen to play her a set about 4-5 years ago and felt like I had been kicked in the gut when it was over. She beat him 4-1. Poor old Ronnie was
ALMOST speechless.

Not calling you a liar, but......

Lewis, I'm sorry, I find the "almost speechless" part hard to believe. ;)

Dick, you would believe it if he had told you they were playing,,,,,,,,,EVEN. So sad.

Jennifer Chen/HelenaThornfeldt/myself and Jeanette have to be in my opinion the best all around gamblers. All around meaning smart as well as played good for the chedder. Jennifer has played the strongest for the most amount that I have seen. We'r talkin $500 on the 5 and $1000 on the nine action. If u make the nine before the game is over on a combo it will spot back up to be shot again on the run out. Eileen was a good one too. Kristie and Holly had a lot of nerve but got busted often. Mostly by Eillean and J.Chen or myself. Ahhh those were the days wish I could get some fun games goin again.

Wow, now that's gambling. I'd have to bring a dozen changes of underwear or a diaper to that game. Can you say gag, choke, shake apart on the 9. Johnnyt
