Doubt it, heard too much about ya. But Keith put something out there that can get at a guys head and he did so with the idea of a 5 digit bet and how you would react.

You might dog it, you might go into a zone and shoot the lights out for that kind of cash. All I want is a chance to see this match and I don't really care who comes out on top, my side bet on Keith will be peanuts compared to 5 digits and just a way to sweat the match a little. Whether I win or lose a $100 bet on a match like this I will have got my moneys worth either way.

One thing though, Keith is not a rare breed, he is an extinct breed. People like him, Louis Roberts, and a few other people from older times bet it up and put it all on the line like noone of today does. They just don't build pool players like that anymore and I think Keith knows that as well as anyone and he likes his chances because there are no players out there today that seem to have the fearlessness to play for the kind of money he is talking about here and still shoot the lights out. He comes from a era where a true gambler would put his entire net worth on the line on a single football games outcome. Heck SVB and Busta for 5k becomes a match of who misses less, not who runs out more. Keith back in the day would have robbed anyone for the big cash if the money got to them like that and that is what he is putting out there and what I would be betting on even with a older Keith. There are guys from that era that were not fazed by the cash like I see people of today getting.

But, you go out into a match like this and shoot right near the top of your game Chris, Not only will you have a really good chance to win the match you will get a ton of respect being able to step out and play for that kind of money and play dead solid for the truly huge cash you don't see people playing for anymore. No matter how this match turned out it would be good for pool and it would be a great story.

I personally witnessed Chris play a 10 ahead set for 6 figures and miss 2 balls in 3 hours to take down the cheese, giving up the stone cold nuts. Everybody in the house bet against him, he covered the whole rail, and we got a nice lobster dinner when it was over. How many players u know go on the road, give up the 4, 7 and the breaks and snap off someone like that? So I guess they still made that "type" of player sometime after 1975.

Perhaps they do, and he is just not getting the exposure, that might very well be by choice to keep the action going, but then your post kinda bjorks that abit since it is now publicly known.

If he is going off like that and has no issues with people like you telling the tales about it then it is all the better for the sport if things like this became more of a talked about thing. Action begets action in any and all sports.

Man, I just thought I'd stop on this thread, and see what's been going on. I stumbled into all this woofin, and I feel like I'm at an event somewhere that's loaded with action.

Its pretty much common knowledge that it happened.

I don't know Efren's reasoning for not playing. Maybe he was just trying to get Shane to give up the weight. Who knows. The original point was this- in his day, Keith was giving weight to anyone that asked. Bartrum thinks he is his equal when Keith was in his prime. Yet, Chris still wants weight from a number of people. When he starts spotting everyone else, THEN he might be Keiths equal, not before.
IF YOU WOULD READ I SAID MORE THAN ONCE IN HIS PRIME I HAD NO CHANCE.

I know your a world class player and has as much gamble as anyone. You are probably in the top 50 in the USA and are able to beat anybody in a race to eleven tournament.

Barking at Keith and a few others on this thread does bother me. Keith doesn't play anymore and you should leave it at that. Please bark at your peers in the top 50 in the USA. I know you have a ton of gamble and I would pay to watch you play on TAR against a tough opponent. You just need to bark at another player who will bark back.

You and Keith do have one thing in common and that is you fear no one. This is a quality that few players have.

Please answer one question for me: Where do you rate yourself with the other USA players?
HERE IS WHAT YOU DONT KNOW.
JAM BARKED AT ME TO PLAY HIM.
THEN HE SAID I COULDNT PLAY A LICK.
SO NOW I WILL BARK BACK I DID NOT CALL THE OLD MAN OUT FIRST.
BUT I WILL PLAY HIM HE SAID HE WOULD PLAY ME BUT HE WONT.

I will bet on chris if you get keith up whats the diffrence i just spoke the truth i know he was one of the best in his day but he is about out of days

lol, this reminds me of this classic scene from "Above the Rim". I guess McCready would be Flip. It starts at 5:36 in the clip.
