Who would you say is the most entertaining action players?

There are many entertaining players

unfortunately i do not find hardly any of the action players that i have seen in the past couple of years, at the derby anyway, entertaining.

Dippy wasn’t bad this year & the black widow the year before.

Not trying to pi$$ anyone of but listening to strong arm john, scooter, tim heath
& all their entourages makes me about sick.

I consider great pool & humorous banter very entertaining, not what these guys do.

Oh well, that’s just my opinion.

I meant currently. I wish Keith was still out and about because you are right. But sadly I think his playing days are done. :(

Just for your information, I shouldn't have to lower myself to give you this information, but I'm far from being dead. I have a Brunswick pool table in my basement. Anytime I feel it's necessary for me to get ready, I don't believe it would take me too long.

As far as the entertainment business, every time I play there would be a couple hundred people watching me and only a handful watching the TV table. I remember when Efren was playing Bustie at the Open on the TV table, and they had to shut it down because the whole joint was watching me and Alex. Even Efren and Bustie were watching.

My playing days are far from over. If I remember right, I didn't pick up a cue stick for a couple years before Valley Forge and on Friday and Saturday nights ran two 10-packs a 7-pack and a 6-pack, as well as came in second place at the Pro Am to Shannon. I made everybody unjoint in both ring games. They didn't want no more of it, Mister. That was all within two days.

So please don't talk about me what I can do and what I can't do. You better realize that peope who do have talent can snap into shape a lot quicker than somebody that doesn't have any talent. And as far as the entertainment piece, I've never had any problems filling up any place I play at. I ain't dead yet.

"You can put this on teh Internet...." Keith McCready (before dogging the 9 ball to close out the set)

I think that was '03? They stopped the TV table and started filming your table, which was next to the TV arena and next to the Accustat boom camera. Good stuff.

Good, then get your butt up to Snookers for the Seminole event in August ;)

Edit to add: Keith and Alex are my favorites, hands down

Like I said, hands down winner!

What Keith described in the Efren/Busti match is pretty much the same when all the champions were at Hard Times in the early 90's. Whenever Keith played, he drew the crowd. It didn't matter that Efren, Jeanette, Tang, etc were playing. Everyone wanted to see Keith play!

Well you are clearly offended and that wasn't my intent. Guessing you just don't like me... oh well.

I have no doubt that you can still play amazing pool if you wanted to and didn't say you couldn't. Im sure Jean Balukas could still hit em good too, but I don't think I'll see her anytime soon either.

A good quote I heard recently when a fellow was looking for action without success.

"How can the worst player in the room not get a game?"

;)

To add to this, Keith is 100% correct talented players can get into stroke more than less talented players. I'm a no talent player and it takes me forever to get back in stroke, I been playing 26 years so i know what i'm talking about. Keith can play for a day or 2 and be 95% or more. I need 2-3 weeks for the sake of comparing a talent to a no talent player. This holds true for all the talented and no talented players. Right Keith?

i dont think that is true.
that a player can take years off and play for 2 days
and be in stroke.
it does not work like that.

I don't even know you to not like you, but I don't appreciate reading what you wrote about me and feeling the need to defend myself. Jean Balukas doesn't read this forum. I don't post much, but I do read it from time to time. Remember I've been playing pool since I was knee-high, been through the ropes in and out, so I do like to keep up with what's happening in the pool world once in awhile.

Nobody who's been playing as long as I have would care to read that their playing days are done. It's insulting, especially when you don't even know me personally. If you did know me personally, I don't believe you would have written that Anybody that knows me wouldn't say my playing days are done. I'm just temporarily on hold, my friend. :)

Fun to watch post:

I seen keith say some funny shit in and out of action. So without a doubt of all the living players today he gets my vote.

All time nobody laid it down like Fats, he was by far the most entertaining action player.

Scooter is fun to watch most of the time, like Keith playing or not he can mix it up good.

Bobby Pickle was great as well. I saw him playing Tedder with about $50,000 in the middle or some huge number at the Derby the last year they had it at the Executative West. He took his shirt off a few times cause it was so hot in that room, he was on a roll. that was a great session.

Alex is fun sometimes too, he is very funny when he wants to be. Sometimes he clams up and just plays too. I dont know if Fats ever did-I dont think it was possible for him to not talk.

Nobody but might say this but I like watching Mike Segal when he gets his ear man, to me he is entertaining. Perhaps not many others.

thats the short list.

Sometimes I try to be entertaining, Scooter and I were partners, I was "On the jar"-moonshine. I'm not sure if was entertaining that night or entertaining myself. LOL I dont drink much but when I "Get on the Jar" of moonshine aint no telling whats gonna happen, i cant make a ball, but i sure do have fun.

i agree years is wasnt what I was thinking about, I was thinking about 4-6 months at the most. Years is going to take longer for sure

I hope to see you come back, you would be perhaps the biggest draw in pool when you did come back for a long time. The Stream's would have their biggest audience ever if you came back and played. There are lots of people who havent seen you play and you have became a living legend. I told JAM that a couple years ago. After the honeymoon of you comming back wears off, perhaps a year, you would still be a huge draw. The fans love you. I been at the pool room 100 times while you been there(in lots of joints in Ca and Vegas/Reno) you and seen you play many times, And I'd love to see you play again. Infact I'd love to play you, I talk 7 days a week to Harry in Seattle-ask him about me-Eric Petersen.

Well the day I see you play again, you can just consider me wrong. I said nothing bad about you and there is no need for you to defend yourself just as there is no need for Balukas to defend herself. Doesn't matter if she reads this forum or not.

If you go back and re-read it, you will see that I wish you were still out playing, but you're not. If you feel the need to prove me wrong, I'll be at the us open waiting to watch your first match. But you don't have to prove anything to anybody. You already have.

I have not been to the derby city since it moved from Louisville an I live in Louisville. But if I here a rumor that Mr. Keith McCready will be there, you better damn well believe I will be there. The man is surely a treasure to the pool world. A true legend, he has reached a level playing this game that very few will ever attain. To put it mildly very few here will ever come close to his talent in there life time. An Mr. McCready if an when you go to the derby city please pm me. I would just like to have a opportunity to shake your hand an place some bets. Skip
