I am with you on this. It is said the pool table is the great equalizer. It does not care if your man, woman, big, small. All that matters is if you can solve the puzzle of the table...can you put the solution of the puzzle in the pockets...that's all. I am not buying into the men can break harder crap anyone that has seen Corey's break know that a 90mph break is not the answer. I saw "The Black Widow" best Scott the "Freezer" Frost in DCC banks and I bet money the Diamond Table could have cared less if it was a man or woman hitting the ball in the pocket.MasterClass said:I would have thought that Pool is the only sport that is not gender bias unlike golf or bowling or tennis where the Male physique is of an advantage.
So why the segregation? Is there some political reason behind? I know most tournaments in the region still bans female from male tournaments. Would male participants diminish should more female start to take up pool?
I would like to share an article from our local pool scene, for the first time in history the same girl won both the Male and Female national title.

Are we going to be extinct soon? Personally i think this is great! A huge step forward. For the local scene at least. Has anything like this happen anywhere before? Austria perhaps?

Scott Lee said:dave sutton...I'll accept the sarcasm. But I again, have to respectfully disagree with the "boob" comment. The real reason the women are on t.v. is because they're much SMARTER than the men. They pulled together into a cohesive unit, more than two decades ago...something that has never happened with the men (and sadly, I'm not sure ever will). The women have an effective business model, and that's what get's them on t.v. Unfortunately it has not brought them tons of money...but lots of exposure!

JB Cases said:The UPA does not allow women to play except by special invitation.
manwon said:Dave, I completely agree with you here, Jean could still come back. But things have not changed and she never will do you remember why she quit in the first place?
She quit because she was not allowed to compete, and because she was a women she was never invited to participate in the World Championship 14-1 Straight pool championships. The men were afraid of her, i mean how would it look if a women won and beat all those man, especially back in the 1970's.
I for one would like to see Jean come back and kick ass with her Balabushka, that by the way was made special for her by the master himself.
