Why Are Women Considered Inherently Inferior?

Tough call...looks like Amar at first, but then again, the coloring and posture are wrong...plus it looks like there is an inner fatty coming out. I am inclined to think it is Tony...10-15 years ago.

Ah-hah. Great minds think alike, Black-Balled! Me, too! :grin-square:

That is Chohan about 8-10 years ago. Bet on it. Don't go broke, but bet on it.

That's what I'm saying too. I am going to call Tony myself and ask him! He should know if that's him or not! :)

I know this sounds strange, but that looks like Jesse Bowman in the background wearing a red and white shirt with the baseball cap tilted to the side! LOL!

Maybe he's waiting for seconds!

Please call Tony and tell him Tom told you it was Amar.
Tony hasn't had that much hair in 6 years..

Believe me, it is Amar... you owe Blah Blah a dollar...

AND Amar is shooting with a Bobby Hunter cue stick in this pic! I know that cue well, but that's the topic for another thread!

Look at the cuestick in the other picture! :nanner:

LOL! Somehow that line cracks me up: "You owe Blah Blah a dollar."

:rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1:

I'll call him as soon as my other half gives me his cell number!

Also, Amar had a smaller head than Tony. I say the big-headed boy is tony from a dozen years ago.

Someone shoulda told Jean she was inferior when she beat Mizerak 4 straight tournaments in the 80's. Somone shoulda told Bonnie Hoffman she was weak and couldnt break harder than 75% of the guys I know. Someone shoulda told Yu Ram Cha she was too inferior to beat SVB this past week...wow.

voodoo bonnie hoffman played at the pool hall i started at .
does she play anymore at all?

My opinion is far from most women, so I try to stay out of these threads. But I will go ahead and bite the bullet.

I don't think women are inferior, but I do think men play better than women for the most part.

I think there are some women with amazing talent and motor skills to compete with the men today, but overall, men are better.

I think it goes back to flight or flight. I think it goes back to men play sports their whole life and have the testosterone for competing and the mental attitude for it. Although both men and women have to learn mental toughness, men acquire it faster (or are born with it?).

Take in point that when men play their best friends, they still want to crush them. "Most" women let their emotions get in the way and we hug and cry after wards (lol, being a little funny here). Now, with more experience and competition, females will want to crush our friends every time. But men in the very beginning of learning to play pool already have that killer instinct. It takes a while for a women to acquire that skill. Do I know why? No. Just reminds me of back in the day of fight or flight and men were hunters.

Here's a funny example I thought of yesterday. How many men do you know that have dropped out of school/college because they played too much pool? I know dozens. Yet, I don't know one female that did that.

Okay, let the $hit fly at me.... :duck:

No $hit from here, I actually think you might be right. Nothing else makes sense.

You know, I am divorced. I also like pool and going to the gym. Some say witty. Just thought I'd let you know these things.

Someone else kinda implied I was hating on women when I stated they couldn't beat the top men for some reason. You got me wrong buddy. I don't understand why there should be any physical or mental roadblock that should keep any woman from playing this game as well as the top men. I merely observe that for some reason, it hasn't happened yet.

Someone else came up with the coordination thing (first time I heard that particular theory) and another poster said "this needs hard science if you're gonna claim men are more coordinated"... so I googled it and linked because it was the closest I could find to 'hard science'. It was only 5 minutes of research, I'm lazy too. Take a second to read it.

I took 'target-directed motor skills' to generally mean any activity that requires aiming. Doesn't necessarily imply physical strength like hurling something. Could be archery, baseball, and bowling. Could be pool, skee-ball, or pitching quarters. I actually googled the phrase at the time of my post but came up dry, otherwise I would have been able to offer a more informed opinion.

Pool is fine motor skills to be sure, but 'target-directed' sounds right up that alley too.

creedo, just to clarify i wasnt accusing you of being mysogynistic in any way and i apologize if my post made it seem that way to you. i appreciate your effort to add some actual facts to this thread. i will say that there have been some rather surprisingly mysogynistic posts in this thread. thanks female azb'ers for weighing in. and thanks jam for attempting to highjack this thread. so it may be fair to say that there are fewer top female players b/c there are fewer female players at all and that the incentive to top female players to ramp up their game to the level of beating top male players is basically nonexistant, but there is no real gender difference that would prevent a gifted female pool player from doing so if she chose to?

Why are women considered inferior?

Back on topic.
Inferior to what?
Feminine Women who are inferior to the best women that are not feminine?

As I said a few years ago... These are my actual thoughts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What happened to her I did not see her name in the Amway Cup lists and she always plays in it??

A filly ( female horse) beat the boys today to win the Preakness !
But to be fair according to the experts she is a freak of nature ,a monster sized horse. She won wire to wire (start to finish)

Over here in USA we don't run females against males (only occasionaly)but in Europe a filly/mares will run against male horses and compete equally against them its just a matter of training .

You are totally right! Lets stop this gender barrier and have 1-tour...The Proffesional Open Tour....I mean these girls can play as well as the guys right?? I'm sure they would love to compete with the fellas plus the prizes would double in value!!
Great idea:thumbup:

That'd be cheating the women IMO. right now i see women on tv a lot more than i see men on tv. i think until the male players can get things straightened out with their sponsorships the women should keep doing their own thing

My bad, I misread it because I'd taken flak earlier for a post on the subject. Thanks for setting things straight.

I think fewer female players is gonna be a factor no matter what, and sociological stuff is the other major factor. I don't think it's physical.

A few people have already said the 'sociological stuff' in other words, but the way I think of it is... competition is a form of conflict/fighting. Men grow up with muscles and are used to having that security that comes from knowing that if stuff gets ugly, they can get into a fistfight and have a chance of coming out ok. Between this and their natural production of testosterone they are more willing to get into fights or get into someone's face.

Women grow up being aware of their comparative lack of muscle, and they look for other non-physical ways to solve conflicts, or they just avoid them. This reluctance to get into fights (or get in anyone's face) could also lead to less competitive drive in general. They'd rather work together on a team and ...I think akatrigger put it best... "hug and cry" than pit themselves all alone against the rest of the field. They also mature faster. Between these things, a lot of women might never try to play serious pool because they view extreme competitiveness as silly or pointless. They'd rather put their energy into something more productive.

Someone else joked about them going on to do safe womanly stuff like becoming cooks or maids. The sad part is, there's so little money in pool that becoming e.g. a cook is a much more sensible option, financially.
