Why isn't there a bar table hall of fame

All the players that have been mentioned in this thread deserve to be in the Bar Table Hall of Fame, the ones I have listed are just the ones I personally watched play, for there are many, many deserving of this honor.

I hope that when they do have the BTHF that everyone of them are inducted at the same time before we all die and they are forgotten with history.

I will update my list with the players I haven't seen but should be on it, my list isn't official or anything but something to go by, we don't want to forget anyone that should be on it.

I'm leaving in a day or two to go camping for a few months , so I will not be able to update it but all you guy's can mention the players you remember that should be in the BTHF and I'll add them later.

I've updated my unofficial list for the " Bar Table Hall of Fame" inductee's, you guy's keep coming up with those derserving players to add and we'll keep adding names!

I think this is a great idea. It could be a virtual hall of fame with a website that could have a link to actual footage of the players inducted if available and of course bio's. An induction dinner could help fund the expenses of the inducted and plaques.

Not sure where Mark is on the idea that pool needs more halls of fame, but I don't speak for him. It was just a thought that his tournament would be a fitting place to have such a ceremony if there was one.;)

These are about all I can think of, maybe Jay Helfert can add some player's from the 70's off the west coast that he remembers, I know I didn't get them all.

I certainly hope we can get a BTHF setup, all these players deserve some recognition for their play

George Brunt, David Grossman, Smokey Bartlett, Scott Kitto, Danny Cook, Mike Gulyassey, Robert Newkirk, Jerry Bento, and Billy Weir. These are a few I have personally played and watched play many times in the 70's and 80's. I think it was in the mid 80's they had a big bar box tournament in Chicago I went to with over 300 players, if I remember right and George Brunt took it off. George did everything at a high level. Mike Gulyassey was also a player no one wanted to draw and was subject to beat anyone. Met Smokey on the road in Lubbock, TX and we ran together for a while. He was also a top one handed player.
 
Lotsepop played some jam up one pocket on bar box. James Brown isn't to shabby either.
 
My dad is danny cook does anyone know where I could find some pictures of him playing? My grandfather was gordon Christopherson if anyone knows him as well. I just remember being at the rack in Memphis when I was a kid

I think Bill Porter's site might have some pics of Danny. Might be wrong though.
 
I was pleased to see the name Joe Lawrence mentioned in this thread.
Me and JOB would think Joe should get a spot in the Hall.....
his picture hangs in that room.

He stopped playing for a while, but a cue maker told me recently that he's putting the
finishing touches on Joe's new cue....and he's running packa again.

Joe was a snooker player in a small Ontario town who started hanging around a bar
that had a Valley 7ft...he had no idea how good he was.
One day a stranger showed up and Joe got into action.....after two days they were still
even and tha stranger went looking for easier pickings.

When Joe found out later that the stranger was the World 8-ball champion, he decided
he was road-worthy and packed his bags.

The stranger, by the way, was Pretty Boy Floyd.

Whatever happened to Danny? I knew Danny and "Gordy" back in the early to mid 80s....they were around Missouri and Memphis mostly from what I remember.
