Why Shanelle should be given a chance?

I'm not the one complaining about her being sponsored you are. I could care less who is sponsored ,if someone has a sponsor good for them, if not oh well get out there and market yourself. It's not going to change my life. You should probably be worried about your own income instead someone being sponsored.

Son, are you crazy? Yes, I am the one complaining about her being sponsored and you are the one complaining about people complaining about her being sponsored. No, it won't change your life nor will it change mine and thank you for showing concern in my income. I'll worry about your income too for the next five seconds.

dude, we are talking about pool here, not baseball. baseball can be discussed on the NPR section by the way,

I was drawing an analogy to baseball since some people can't see the problem with the hope that maybe it would better explain things. Obviously I was wrong and won't do analogies again.

Thank you, could always have more people concerned about my income.

Very poor choice.
I'M THE FATBOY OF SENTENCE STRUCTURE.

Still driving a porsche & living on the beach with 6 months off a year. Guess sentence structure isn't that important afterall.

Good for you, son. I'm glad you're only turning tricks six months a year.

If you would read the other posts you would see the argument. Why dont you sponsor these deserving women? Why attack someone? You should contact her sponsor, I'm sure they will get rid of her immediately & get someone more deserving. Maybe you could give them a list. Good luck
My general client base does not attend pool tournaments. I don't need to advertise any way. I work by word of mouth.

As for what any person, including sponsors, relates to me about her or any subject, that is held in confidence.

If beautiful women are going to attract attention to a sport, it would be nice if the woman in question could actually compete in that sport.

As for how that relates to pool, gorgeous women have been playing pool for years and we still don't get the publicity we'd like to see. If it hasn't happened by now with Jeanette, Jennifer, among others, it is never going to happen.

.........because shes hot

What Gatz said.

ALLLLLLLLWAYS better to look good than to play well when it comes sponsorship and marketing--- don't care what anyone says. You can't put a 5-pack run-out on a poster, but you can put someone's hot face on there easily.

I'm not sure if her picture makes me wanna play pool or drink a glass of milk--- either way, it makes me wanna do SOMETHING, that's for sure.

Ability has nothing to do with sponsorship. Look at Anna Kournikova, for example. Not tops in the world but ooooooooh maaaaaaaaan .... she makes me wanna......uhhhhhhhh........buy, like, tennis stuff, or something.

Who's the top girl golfer? Not Sorenstam. More like Natalie Gulbis. Why? She makes you wanna sink that 110' putt, like that smilin' Bob guy from the Enzyte commercial.

It issssssss what it issssssss.... like it or hate it, sex sells.

P.S.

Marissa is right though..... it IS pool we're talking about. NICE if she could bap them around a little.

I somewhat agree. Jeanette & Ewa have made theirs houshold names [alot more homes than most] some has to do with ability & alot with looks. The public doesn't recognize great play, they simply don't know any better. They do however great looks-easy to figure that one out.

I say support her & hopefully she will grow into a player that will make us all proud. All the bashing does nothing but make us all look bad. Her sponsors will not change their minds until something better comes around, then maybe.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Shanelle was born with great looks the way some people are born with great talent or a lot of money -- they shit out in the game of life. We can complain all we like about how she's sponsored while others aren't but the bottom line is: nothing's going to change.

Even if she wasn't sponsored, she'd still be gorgeous.

I'm average in looks, in my game, in life, in just about everything except bad temperament. A long time ago, I figured out that, in the world of sports (and maybe beyond), the two most highly marketable facets are looks and skill. I figured I didn't have looks so I'd concentrate on skill. Besides, looks will fade one day. I'd rather be the 89 year old cranky cat lady running racks on the young whippersnappers on the table in a few decades.

Instead of spending my valuable calories wondering about Shanelle's life I'd rather spend it improving my own game, and working harder at my job so I can sponsor my own C-player ass instead of waiting for someone else to do it.

:)

C player my ass. You're a Capital B, and that rhymes with C and fits u to a T. And it all spells mon E!

One other thing, you have the wickedest sense of humor in the entire pool kingdom. I name you Queen for a minute!

what do you think made them (Jen and Jeanette) sell? their skill or their looks? if it's the skill part, then why is it Allison is not that popular? or even Karen Corr?

remove the looks part and make them (Jen and Jeanette) look like a pair of hyenas, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to attract people. however, being beautiful but with limited pool expertise doesn't disqualify you from endorsing and even playing pool. call it superficial, hey endorsing a product must mean you must look good aside from being good at pool. how will you be able to sell a product if you look like S-H-I-T ? it about looks/charisma when it comes to advertising. as somebody pointed out, you cant show how you run-out a rack on a billboard, you can only show the face. btw, I believe there are more deserving mascots than Ronald McDonald, skillwise.

here are the facts of the matter: this is the reality,

good at pool + good looks = good PR
bad at pool + good looks = good PR
good at pool + bad looks = bad PR
bad at pool + bad looks = nevermind

now, who's fault is it? the endorser? before we look unto others, let's look at ourselves as well. why do we buy certain products? why did you buy that certain model of a camera? are you sure that it is the best one out there? the things that we buy are because of good PR exposure. if I may say this, those models that endorse those cameras on the billboards are not professional photographers. but they give a certain positive PR which is good for marketing.

as for Shanelle playing pool, I believe she is entitled to playing and enjoying the game. so dont pun on her just because she accepts endorsements. leave her alone if she wants to play pool.

as I see it, nobody bothered you when you still sucked at pool or say that you dont deserve to play the game and endorse products (if you had).

she deserves a chance because shes friggin hot. Shes gettin attention to our sport and thats a good thing. She wouldnt be getting this attention if she wasnt hot. Theres 2 threads about her on the board right now so she must be doing something right.

And it does come of as jealousy when other girls put her down.
